Tamiya Eurocup UK

Is there any more TC members going to do the Tamiya Eurocup Series. I will be at Snetterton on Sunday racing me TB-02 in the GT2 class. I Will look forward to meeting some fellow TC members who are also into racing!!

I won't be participating, as Snetterton's a bit far away from me, but I will most likely be spectating when it's at the Southend track - I think there's one round being held there in the Eurocup this year?

The Southend meeting is on the 1st August. I last raced there back in 1999 ( was then using a FF-01 in stock touring). I believe the Track has been redesigned since.

I will be there on Sunday to watch and I know Dazmeister is racing his TT01 and TL01.

I'm not sure if the Southend track's been redesigned, but it was definitely resurfaced recently. I'll probably be popping down there one Sunday soon so I'll let you know. I've marked 1st August in my calendar now!

Rain stoped play after 3 Rounds - Too mainy people 'Blowing' their cars up in the rain, so a vote was cast and the meeting was ended.

I decided to use the TB-01 since I fully weatherproofed it. I was in heat 5 car 7 (Orange/White) Subaru Impreza

I was the kid in the blue shorts and the yellow jacket. Hmmm I think I was the only guy in shorts.

And I was the guy driving the boat around the track !

You should have seen the guys faces when they pulled off their "so called water proof" cars. They were pouring out like a picture.

Just finished flushing my bearings out, they were rusty as a hat !

Yep forgot to look out for you too Kev but it was so **** wet I just stayed in the portacabin most of the time []

My car was still going when they abandoned the meeting - good old TB-01, easy to waterproof with clingfilm [] Same problem as you Dazmeister - some of my bearings have started to go rusty [V]. IF it's dry at West London I will be giving the TB-02 an airing.

Well done Darren - Noticed that you are also leading the Stock Touring class. All I could manage was an 8th Place in the Super Stock 'A' Final (I was holding 4th place until I rolled the Car Doh!!) []

TT-01 is the only car worth running in stock, it just carries so much more corner speed compared to the TL-01. It does suffer from a bit of understeer, especially with the kit tyres we have to run.

The funniest thing about running the TT-01 is the noise it makes from the rubbish propshaft (hop up not allowed[] ) as it reaches top speed on the straight !

Yeah, I noticed how the cars sounded when they went down the straight - Was that a noise of the Rubber band (Engine) unwinding [] - I think you stock tourer guys need to find a (legal) way of balancing those propshafts.

Anyone doing the 2005 Tamiya Eurocup. This year be doing Stock (did Superstock last year) as I found out that my TT01 is more reliable than my TB02. I am hoping to be doing all the meetings EXCEPT Carlise. It would be nice to see other Tamiyaclub Members racing there

Hey you can have it Kev but my money is in Simon Knight if he actually stays in the stock class !

As you know I cannot compete in stock again as I have been to the euro finals twice so will take a sabatical before coming back next year with a vengence[}]

Probably do Super Stock or GT1 next year but I will make a few star appearences[] at the more local rounds this year as I have a TRF415 to play with.

Other than that I will keep my hand in and do a few BRCA 27T rounds with my TC4.
