Mental laugh again, cheers all.

Taken 200+ pictures (705mb worth) so will be spending a while resizing and uploading.

But in the meantime, here's a taster of how silly it got

This would be the new TC competition then.... "How many pieces was the car in on landing"...

That looks like the sort of air the US basketball team could have used at the Olympics... lol...

It was a great weekend and fun was had by all. It was a great circuit and the weather stayed fine for the most part and we even got a good dose of sunshine on each day.

Thanks to Chris for sorting this one - we're all very grateful. Many thanks to the usual band of people out there marshalling - Molly and Ryan being particularly good as ever - you're help's always appreciated.

Thanks also to Moosey for not punching me in the knackers after I ripped the front wishbone off his Optima Mid (well, it was held on with 3 tie-wraps...!)

Didn't do many pics this time - decided to have fun rather than sit at the end of a lens. There seemed to be lots of people out with digi stills so I did a bit of video and that's your lot...!

No high-speed upload capability here I'm afraid, so you'll have to wait...!

Just been looking through all your pictures that you've loaded so far - really enjoyed them. Just made me more gutted that I couldn't make it to this one[:(][:(].

I had a good days 'Racing' on Saturday. Took 7 cars and no serious damage!! (Except the Broken Monster Beetle body). My most reliable car was my Midnight Pumpkin which I picked up the day previous - painted in Grey Primer.

Some excellent photos posted on this site of the meeting (quite a few of my cars in them [;)] )

Well done Chris on organising the event and everyone who attended making it a successful day - I will be looking forward to the next one.

Whatever floats yer boat I guess...[8D]

The Kidder weekend was a LOT of fun [:D][:D]. It was the first TC event that I could get to and it was great to put faces to names after all this time - the friendly atmosphere was great. I regret not entering more of the races, but I now realise that looking silly just ain't an issue at these do's [:)]. I'll echo the thanks to Chris (and nipper) for the organisation and look forward to the next one whenever/wherever that might be.

Yep, it was a really top weekend, the weather gods were kind to us all and it was great meeting people and running the cars on the offroad track. I didn't get to chat with people as much as I would've liked, what with the 2 lads cars to keep running and having to keep them fuelled with hot dogs/beans/sausages etc, but it was great to meet some of the TC members I've not spoken to before.

I only broke 3 cars and a transmitter aerial, big thanks to Dazmeister for fixing my Baja Champ on Sunday morning when I couldn't be bothered to do it. Gave it to Macca and 10 mins later it was returned all done - top pit work [^]

Matt got himself a Gravel Hound from James, so we will be building that this week (ooh, that reminds me, I'd better pay James for it now as I didn't have enough cash on me at the weekend [;)])

Top fun, looking forward to the next one. Maybe we can go back to Kidderminster a bit earlier next year. Many thanks to Chris for the organising, to the young marshalls, and to everyone else who turned up to make it a fun weekend. Can't wait till the next one [:D].

Glad everyone enjoyed it - thanks for the kind words about the 'organisation'. I think the system is getting better each time we have one of these events, so by about 2014 we should have it spot on[;)]

Thanks to all those that helped out and took part. I felt the peg board worked well this time, even though we didn't havt a PA system to keep chasing people for the missing pegs. I also thought the fixed running order was OK - next time I'll get it out further in advance and maybe let people pre-register for events. It'll also help people work out what cars to bring to what events.

We all behaved so well, Kidderminster have said we can go back anytime for another go, which is always a good sign. As its fairly central maybe we could even slip in a couple of one day events to get us through the winter/spring.

People have asked about when we will be doing Snetterton again, but personally I wouldn't be keen to go back there again. Tracks great and I here they are working on the off road section but it is very expensive, its out on a limb a bit and there have always been serious issues going on behind the scenes which have nearly closed both events down. On top of that its in the middle of a public market which is just not a secure place to leave your kit around.

I think its safe to say Kidderminster will be on our list for summer venues, so if anyone has any suggestions for on-road winter venues - or any other venues at all please let me know.

Cheers

Chris

I'd just like to echo many of the comments here. It was the first club event that i have attended and i thoroughly enjoyed myself. Nice to finally meet everyone. My only regrets were not coming to both days and not having as many runners as i hoped. Everyone was friendly and helpful and above all it was fun and informal. I'll be attending all future events if possible.

I personally think that the Kidderminster venue was excellent and would welcome any further events there. I think the idea of one day events in the winter/spring is a really good one. If you need any volunteers to help with the organisation Chris please put my name down.

Thanks again for a great event

Kidderminster was excellent. All it really needs is some better loos and mains power. I'm sure the former will be sorted after those hoodlums trashed it though. I agree with Chris on Snett but just didn't want to say it on the forums first.

Snett is a great circuit (will be better when they remove those stupid concrete lumps again) but it is miles away and to say we got a lukewarm reception by the management is putting it mildly. Seems the proprietors wanted to give us as much hassle as possible as if we were just in their way all weekend and just a bunch of muppets. Fact is that us muppets spend and awful lot of money between us on new and old buggies. Doesn't help their image I'm afraid and even if there was another Snett, I wouldn't go after last time. If we got more gyp that'd be it.

When that pillock locked us in after I used mains (despite being told we could use it if it was on) I just went ballistic and used the fact that I am really good at looking like a bit of a bruiser of a northerner to make sure he didn't mess us about any more. That bloke really was a complete jobsworth and was blatantly abusing his position and making out he was king of the castle. Funny how he became co-operative when I treatened to ram a stick pack up his jacksie eh...?

By complete contrast, the bloke at Kidderminster was enthusiastic, obviously grateful for our business and the fact that we weren't morons and looked after the site - even considering he had an important meet on at the venue soon after (perhaps the next day I think). He had a good chat with us all and welcomed us back. Top bloke. 10 points.

We just need a good on road circuit in an accessible to most location where we're not treated like third-rate chavs or sort of low-life thieving gits or something.

Here, Here guys.

But I must say, I never really had a chat with Trevor, The guy in charge at Snett. It was Paul that dealt with him all the time.

He did seem to make things very hard going for us, When we just wanted to have fun & we behaved last year. So I really couldn't see his problems.

I must stress though, John the second guy in charge there (I think) is a sound fella & I had a really good talk to him at Snett. Nice bloke doing whatever Trevor says [8)]

Kidderminster was PERFECT in my book. I know there's nothing for on-road's. But I'm an off-road fan anyway.

It was great to have the place all to ourselves. Even during the days it was bliss!

Plenty of parking as well.

Superb track! Even though I didn't think we used it to it's full potential [:(]

So many great circuits could be made out of it.

We can always try it next time anyway.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!![:P][:P][:D]

I'd just like to thank everybody who did there part in making Kidderminster the success it was. Thank you maybe i'll have a go at sorting an event out next time [8)] .

Chris have you thought about the on road circuit at Tibshelf? it's situated just off junc 28 M1 and if you made it to Clumber last year you shouldn't have any trouble in getting to Tibby. The track is very clean and secure with the latest lap counter system. W/C and camping facilities are good and not only that but the natives are used to seeing events taken part there so there shouldn't be any un-envited visitors.

Allmost forgot heres Tibby's web addy which is a good sauce of info from history to contact details.

The only problems I can see there are no planks secured to the racing surface and the first bend doesn't look too ripe for pile-ups

Oh, hang on, that's good [:D]

They ok with ramps? [;)]

kidderminster circuit was ace for me as it was a total break from running my cars between trees and deep mud holes[:P][:(]the surface wasnt to abrasive on tires unlike snett which soon wears oval blocks[:(]you could even run onroads there which biggus demonstrated with his mini(great airbourne overtakeing!!!rich!) my only gripe was lack of decent toilets(thanks to pond life[:(!]) power wasnt to much of a problem if you are prewarned!.

the monster truck racing was a great addition but we need a mudbog race next time[;)]

overall an ace place to go to,many thanks to those who sorted the place and all of those who raced and jumped very old cars to destruction.

I think Kidderminster/Birmingham area is probably the best location, it's a couple of hours away for us southerners, and a couple of hours for the northen residents too. Going up to M1 J28 is a bit high up, likewise M25 perimeter is a bit low down.

There's a good on-road track at Southend, 5 minutes from me [:P], but the terms of their lease are quite restrictive, no camping allowed, and therefore it's probably not a goer. Also, it's further than Snetterton from those members who are coming from Yorkshire, Notts and so-on. There is an offroad track in North London somewhere which looked promising, I contacted them earlier in the year with no response, but could always try again.

At the end of the day, as long as we can secure a place with a camping area, toilets and a good tarmac carpark, if someone can bring ropes or other track markers, then we can do on-road easily, and if there is a spare area on a field, do a couple of jumpy things and we could have a combined meeting. There must be some venues like this that we could hire for the weekend. The only issue I can see is with council owned land, they always want indemnity insurance. If all attendees belong to BRCA that's not a problem though..

The main prob I see with 1 day events is lack of interest; I negotiated hire of a grass track in North Essex for a day or 2, and all those who had shown some interest in a meet went strangely quiet, a bit disappointing really. Maybe us Southerners/Essex Boys are just a miserable bunch [:P]
