good job I drive a pickup truck then isn't mate! If I do very big ones I won't have any room for my cars! - maybe you should fit smaller tyres [;)]

LOL, Don't worry I'll have some Clod sized ones done for next meet. Mind you we really could do with finding a quarry or something. Rocks and hills is what we want for the crawlers. We can have proper trial sections then. I know this area is quite flat but there must be somewhere decent around here?????

check the quarry in mooseys showroom, went there with the fg marders and its an ace place. be good for the clods etc, be quiet enough aswell cos its too cold for all the chavs to come out and play and burn cars out.

Yeah - good day, nice run down - about to start to fix my cars and dry out my very wet Pajero [:P]

didn't take that many pics this time - but will upload what i got in the not too distant future.

Looking forward to the next one[:)]

Check out the pics of Epping Forest in my showroom; that would be good for Clods and others. I know it's daaan saaarf, but it's about time that you Arctic types trekked down here [;)]

Had a great day, great to blow the dust off the toys again, only breakage was the marder (nothing new there then!) Got a bit of mud to clean off the Ranger though.

is there going to be the annual Clumber Park meet this year?

I'm sure there'll be more meets there sometime soon. It is handy for me as it is only an hour away. I can't travel too far at the moment cos' wife has to stay behind and look after baby.

Sorry Jozza, too far to travel down south in one day....already have to do alot of commuting for my job so at weekends I like to keep close to home and family.

Hopefully next year baby will be old enough to travel without needing to tow half of mothercare/babys'r'us behind the truck......

I'm planning on making loads more obstacles, enough to kit out a proper trials section so that we can have a mini competition.

I'll bring score cards and the lowest number of penalty points wins. I may even have an old buggy for a prize.

You know the sort of thing: If you fail to complete an obstacle you get the number of penalty points of that gate, if you reverse you get penalty points etc. Gates start at 10 and go down to 0 so if you finish the section you'll get a clear and win the prize. Does this sound OK? I'll get the daughter making up nice little gate flags and numbers [:)]

PS. The obstacles will be designed for monster trucks/crawlers but those of you who want to attempt them with your buggies (you know who you are) are welcome to try.......[;)]

Hopefully there will be something on the cards for the south soon, if we southerners can get our act together [:P]. Clumber Park is probably just about too far for a day trip from here, and more so for the Kent/Sussex dwellers, but if there's another meet there I'm going to try to make it, maybe take a cheap hotel stop on the Saturday night. That's why Kidd was ideal, more-or-less the middle of the country so it made it equal travel from wherever.

I know just what you mean m4f, the smaller the little'uns are, the more you have to stuff the car full of bits to go with them! Our 4th has just about outgrown the pushchair, so we will actually get our hall back soon - It's spent the last 14 years as a pram park [:P]

Hi mr_pushrod, my obstacles are really only going to be suitable for big crawlers however if we find an alternative location such as a quarry then we'll be able to set up proper trial sections and we can put everybody into different vehicle classes for scoring. That way your XC's won't be competing against extreme Clod based machines (Although an XC would find it easier to navigate the tighter sections!)

You'd have maybe 3 classes:

1) XC Chassis size (max width 200mm, max wheelbase 280mm, max tyre 3")

2) Blackfoot sized (max width 280mm, max wheelbase 300mm, max tyre 4.75") - this class would include bruiser, hilux etc

3) Extreme (no limits) - this class would be for all the clod/txt based beasts.

ah, I forgot to mention I'll be fitting anti-buggy devices next time.....[;)] (Can't have my carefully engineered crawler made a fool of by some 13yr olds thundershot [:I] )

Good thing I've been working on my Clod again tonight then! Probably be an age before I get it finished though, lol. Ah well, will take Pajero along for a laugh anyway, see if I can make some of the bigger stuff look silly[;)]
