We would not want to be too close to the Airfield at FBF because we do not want to cause radio interference with the Guys flying the planes. I dont want to see a 6 foot plane come crashing down because I stepped on someones channel. Also, if anyone want to meet me there this Saturday to sope out a good spot, let me know.

Well I got my old track up and running... Just in time for the first "real" snowstorm of the season. Oh well, I had fun yesterday taking boulders out of the track, running some cars, and taking some pictures and videos. Check out my showroom for track updates. I guess the snow will put a stop any immediate plans for a meet. After all it is febuary in the northeast

The track looks great, look forward to a possible meet out there. Where are you exactly in Jersey? What major highway/exit is near your house?

I live about 10 minutes off route 80 (exit 27, Rt. 206 south) and about the same from route 78(exit 24 towards Old Wick, Rt. 517 north)...  The city is Long Valley and Zip 07853 if you want to check on mapquest for an idea of the location .

Wish i was able to help out, as it looks like fun. Anyway, when spring comes we'll see whats up. thanks. pt

Are there any good RC shops in Manhattan?  I'm going there in a few weeks time and seeing as everything is way cheaper over there, thought it might be a good opportunity to pick up a load of RC stuff.

Thanks

None that I know of, but I know of an awesome one about 30-40 minutes away from there in Long Island. Its called Willis Hobbies and it has three floors of RC stuff and a small carpet track in the basement.

Ok guys...enough messing around here...It's spring in NY, the weather's getting nice, so there is NO reason that we can't get together now...

First things first, let's get a date sorted...I'm thinking mid/late May? After we decide on that, then we can worry about location...

thoughts?

Hey! I'm in Besonhurst 11214 and right next to NYDriver, and just a bus ride away from Vintagenewbie.  May 27th sounds good to me but where?  Will it be for both on and off road?  I can't wait!

Guys, I am willing to do it anytime, I have been trying to make this happen for well over a year. I got a few nibbles but no one was serious I guess. I can do both on road or off road, but as for on road, anyone want to go against my pair of Losi XXX-S+ touring cars, one with an 8-turn and the other with a Brushless 5.5 turn. As for off road vintage, I have highly modified Blackfoot, Frog, Grasshopper, as well as an RC10B4 and a brushless RC1018T. Yes, thats a challenge, any takers???

Well, if i can convince the wife to let me get away, I'd be game. I prefer off road but can do on road as well with my TT-01's...though i'm not a racer type!

lowest turn i have is 19, and i'm gonna put that in my lunchbox i think...

just need to decide when and where.....

Hey, NYDriver.  you are very close to where I am.  Where do you live specifically?  If you dont want to give your address here e-mail me at Biped19@yahoo.com. Latter.

Excellent! Good to see everyone on board. So, I guess if everyone is cool with May 27, then we can start talking about location. How about we all scout our respective areas and see what we can come up with? Let's set a deadline for this part for May 13th. Is that ok with everyone? That gives us about 3 weeks to find some spots. Take pics if possible and we can share those as to make the final destination easier to decide upon.

The ball is startin' to roll fellas...nice!

I was in Marine park today, I saw a decent spot for the meet. Its near the Ave U end of the park, very close to the small parking lot there. Very flat with bare spots  amid very short grass (at least right now). I do have 3 dozen cones and four skateboard ramps we can use to make a track. Not a perfect spot, but I will keep looking.

I havent checked it out yet There is a Park on the Belt Parkway called rockaway Parkway its kind of a beach area.. There is a Metal Bridge and under it is  a beach area where you never see a sole.. There is a Bike path there as well so I know its accesable just not sure where you would pull off the road to get there...Where abouts in Brooklyn is Marine Park ? is it near Prospect park ...(Nevermind found it)

Ok so Im looking at Mapquest where were you saying ? Maybe this weekend Ill bring My Digital cam and take some pics

OK Guys! I have finally returned to checking these things! Peter! Thanks for the heads up!  I live in Jersey. I can't scout places in the boroughs but I would be game for wherever you guys decide to meet. I have nothing really running yet other than my T-maxx, but I guess it gives me time to get something together.  I'll do my best to get there for May 27!  This'll be fun! Can't wait!
