Fancy a bash in Kent?

Recommended Posts

The Radio gear arrived and is fitted which means the Honcho will be coming to the ball :)

10am tomorrow morning at the Warren it is then, i'm only going to bring 3 or 4 cars, the Honcho (for its maiden run), a couple of CC01's and maybe something a little faster.... I think the High-lift can stay home due to the lighting kit only being half installed as i've had enough playing with my little cars for one day!

Andy, if you get lost you have my mobile number so between Matt and I 'we'll bring you in' ;)

See you in the morning.

Yep great thanks, see you tomorrow

Good to see you again everyone. MrB and I were thinking having another one in two weeks time. Provisionally I'd say we should have a go on the beach at Dymchurch, or failing that (or at least failing the high tide timings!) back at the Warren? Unless people have a preference for a different venue?

Oh and Graham, I've got all the pics I took from todays bash here

A good day yesterday, would be good to see even more peeps though :(

Regarding the possible beach bash in 2 weeks time, I'll have to wait until next weekend to look at the tide times as the website only shows one week at a time...

If not I'm happy to go somewhere appropriate to run my new found love.....Ms Axial Honcho

After some extensive mods to both Hilux and MMB, I'm going to have another go up the Warren tomorrow (is it only me that thought sounded a bit dodgy? :()

If anyone's around, feel free to join me. I'll be there from 10 ish.

Not sure yet, I think a beach bash was 1st choice, but this is dependant on tide times which still looks a bit iffy IMO......as a 2nd choice the Warren or Penenden heath get my vote

Just checked the high tides in hythe for Sunday and the high is at 0732, the low at 1445. I guess that pretty well excludes a bash there - although I'm not sure how far out the tide would be at 10ish, and at least we'd know it was heading out.

I'm still happy for another meet at the Warren though with crawlers / etc.

Thoughts?

Would agree about the beach bash - I think this is best left until the spring time.

I'm up for an outing at the Warren  I'll be there about 9.30.....

Cool, I'll see you there then.

You had another look at that ground near you, by the way? May have to organise a crawler bash there?

Anyone know if the Warren work has been sorted so that we can get back in there. Really fancy another crawler bash!

Even more awesome as it was an ebay bargin.

I got a fully built (but un-used) one from the kit version for £160 inc -

50g weights on the inside of the wheels

LRP Crawler Special 55T

A standard esc with I will replace with the one suggested

A standard steering servo, so this needs replacing with a high torque version

AM radio gear, which I will replace with 2.4GHz

It does not have any instructions or the un-used spare parts, but I should be able to sort that.

Nice one did you get a Honcho, or a different SCX10 variant ?

Hi guys, yeah its a Honcho

Having now had time to look at it closely I needs a bit of work on it.

2 of the shock's are leeking a bit, hopefully they just need doing up a bit more.

The paint job isn't too great, I take it there is not much that cane be done with a lexan shell. Also the the paint is coming off the rear bed (Andy - I take it that when you painted your rear bed you used lexan piant and sprayed the underside?)

I am hopefully getting all the left over kit parts from the ebay seller, so I can the have the right servo horn for a new high torque servo.

Pic's attached

Andy
