I'm thinking maybe we should have a bit of a dusk photoshoot. I am going to bring my camera this time so I can get a good few piccies of the action.

Hopefully some of the "pro" photo guys will be there (how about it benj_sco?) [;)]. Sadly my Canon S50 whilst it has decent reolution is a bit lacking in the zoom department - will bring my min tripod for some dusk shots though [:)]

Thanks Chris - I'd love to but I've just had my car smashed into and all my camera gear has been stolen, so the chances of me taking piccies is virtually nil I'm afraid... [:0][:(!][:(][V]

Well, once again i'll ask my dad and see if there is anything else on that day.

Ben, thats a bummer and a half. Was it a big smash and you ok? Not much happier here either-some pikes (chavs) lobbed a brick at our car and smashed the rear light. Total cost of one light=£130. Sometimes, you just wanna kill 'em!!

Oh dear [V]. Sorry to hear about the Camera gear getting nicked and the damage to your car - Will your insurance cover it? I have had to get stuff like my camera and PDA covered as an extension to my house insurance precisely because its not covered by things like my car insurance. Its costs a bit extra every year, but at least I know its mostly covered when I'm out and about.

It all depends on whether or not I will be working that weekend if I can make it or not, as I dont usually find out til the thursday or friday what weekend work is on "BUMMER!"

...and as of this evening the Blizzard has had its inaugaral (sp?) run, so will definitely be bringing that along. No paint or lighting as yet, but if the weather stays mild that might be done by then.

Have also just got my hands on a second NIB Alfa GTA (oops spent the Integrale money [:I]). The chassis will be for my RWD rally car project and the shell will be a spare for my existing GTA.

Really looking forward to it [:)]

Looking forward to seeing that Blizzard Chris [8D]. Hopefully I will have the Superclod finished by then (some nice chassis lighting on that) and the Pumpkin is now ready to roll. Monster Beetle didn't get broken last time (there's a first) so I'll definitely be bringing that along, and the Twin Det and Wild Dagger will be there too, I'm hoping I'll be able to get some interesting lighting fitted to them.

Maybe my camcorder will decide to play ball this time and allow me to switch it on. It didn't work last time, but when I got home it worked just fine [?].

Yes, I'm looking forward to Sunday as well.

Jozza...will you be able to bring the peg board along, as I think it will make it easier for everyone if we use it. As suggested before we can just have a peg with our TC name on.

Not bringing any new cars this time but will bring the Landy, Jugg 2 (now with correct body shell), Stadium Blitzer (if the dog bones arrive in time)and a few others. Have also just fitted drift tyres to the TL01 and TT01 so will bring them along for a laugh.

See you all there (will be there about 9ish).

I'll see if I can borrow the pegboard again, and this time might actually get it out of the boot of the car and use it [;)] I've got 50 or so pegs too and a marker pen, so it will be no prob. If I can't borrow it, I'll see if I can make one up, might even see if I can put the Tamiya logo on it.

Guys,

just had a brain storm (a rare thing!).

Who would be interested in a mini trials event on Sunday? I thought we could run it on much the same lines as the full size event eg: a timed run through a number of gates, penalties awarded if a gate touched. We could say have ten stages with a break between each to run other cars etc so it wouldnt take up the whole day. All the xc chassis could compete and any other "scale size cars" 3 speeds, SRBs etc. Let me know if you would be interested and if there is enough interest I will make up some gates and give some thought to course layout.

What's this....a purpose to running our cars? Excellent idea. Makes a change from just running it because????????? well??????? because! Or there could be a track laid out and have it as a free for all to race around. l haven't raced for over 13 years.

l so can't wait. Less than 7 days to go not that l'm counting.

I think I would be up for this, as long as it didn't stop people running other cars outside of this at the same time.

Part of the attraction for me is that you can just turn up and run what you have (Frequencies permitting). The course would be a bonus as long as it doesn't restrict other activities too much [:)].

Might also be worth bearing in mind that last time there were some other non TC people there with Nitro trucks that were <ahem> less than considerate in terms of where they ran them and what they hit [8)]. I think a course would be OK, but don't necessarily expect other non TC people to give it due consideration if it doesn't involve them [;)]

Cheers,

Chris

It might be difficult to have anything arranged that would take much time out of the day, as ChrisB points out it's nice to be able to turn up and "run what you brung" and sometimes it's not that easy to organise something in a public area.

However, it does sound good, and also I think it would be a laugh to set some sort of course out and have a few little races rather than just bashing, 6 or 8 cars round a premarked course over the bumps and bits would be fun.

I've got some football cones which I can bring with me, they are ideal for marking out gates for a race course. If anyone else has any then we could make up some sort of track layout. I would bring some boat ropes, ideal for marking a course, but I wouldn't have any room for any Tamiyas in the car if I brought that along [B)]
