Im more than a little disgruntled in fact im **** right P****D off with the fact that because i had to work at late notice on the last bash weekend, i have booked this Sunday off weeks in advance so as to gaurantee me being there this time. I have now just found another thread in the forum saying the bash has been moved to the 3rd of April (I wondered why no one had replied to my thead lately, now i know!). After only having about 15 hours sleep this week getting all my cars ready in time and creating a couple of new vehicles especially for this event I hope you can understand why im having a rant! Cheers Boys!! Im going to be there with 80skid and brat atack so its up to you if you come down to have a play!!

well chris i have to agree with you. If people want to change the day then they should have the decency to let people know. Espec when some people have to book a day off of work. I mean not everyone gets weekends off.

Hang on guys, the reason I suggested a move to the 3rd April was that no-one had responded to the idea of the 20th March; it seemed like only me and ChrisB were going to be there. I posted the idea of 20th March ages ago, and whilst people seemed up for it at first, not a soul responded to that or this posting in the last 10 days or so, which for some reason made me think that perhaps people weren't interested, maybe because it was too close to the last one? So I suggested it was moved to a couple of weeks further on. No-one commented on that suggestion at all, so I took the decision to say it was on for the 3rd instead.

BellysGonnaGetchya, I didn't notice that you had said you were up for it on the 20th, and looking back at this post there isn't any mention by any other people that they were going to come; in fact there's no responses to this post since the 8th March, and I did wait until the 14th to post my other one, I thought it was a good idea to make a new thread for each meet, much like the Clumber ones are done.

So I don't see what I'm meant to have done wrong, what I was trying to do was avoid people like me who live a way away from coming all the way down and finding there were only a couple of people there; sorry if that's not the way it came across, but I genuinely thought that no-one was interested in that date.

I can't make it tomorrow now, I was all prepared but when at the end of this week no-one had responded, I made other arrangements. Probably for the best anyway as you might all hit me if I was there [].

Hope you have a good time down there tomorrow guys, and please don't hold it against me for suggesting a date change. Next time I'm not going to try to help out, I've had enough of trying to arrange things as it seems you can't please all people, in future I'm just going to leave the date arranging to someone else.

Sorry - as far as I was concerned the 20th was set and agreed on - I hadn't check the forums over the past week as I have no internet connection (Freeserve has messed me over for the last time, I'm not going back...)

I will be coming along tomorrow though, probably midday or earlier if I can wake up

Well, I'm as culpable as anyone else here as like Jozza said I had also (wrongly it seems) assumed that the lack of responses to this thread on meeting on the 20th made it sound like it was just going to be about 3 of us turning up [8)].

Chris (BellysGonnaGetcha) - I understand your frustration and take the point about people working weekends having to plan ahead for this kind of thing. I can honestly say that I think the whole thing is a genuine misunderstanding, and hopefully people will treat it as that?

Personally I think some of the comments have been a bit harsh. It takes me well over an hour to get the the venue, and often much longer to get back if I catch the Bluewater / M25 Sunday traffic. This means that if its just going to be me and one or two others I will normally think twice about doing the trip....

For future reference I think it would help avoid misunderstandings if people were planning to go to an event, that they just post a confirmation sometime the week before in an appropriate thread in events. There are not that many new postings under events so it should be easy to spot new ones or threads that have been updated.

I hope this doesn't sour things as I have really enjoyed meeting everyone at the last two bashes. Sadly I can't now make it tomorrow as my only remaining 1:1 transport has crapped out on me and I gotta now sort that out tomorrow [V].

I'd still like to meet up on the weekend of the 3rd April, but will probably only go for that if I know at least a few others are going along.

Jozza, I dont think the issue was the change of date but the fact that it was done on another thread that no one knew about. I think in future we should keep to the one to avoid this sort of thing happening again. What do others think?

Personally, I think a clearly labelled new thread with the event name and date is a better way to go.

This thread is already 10 pages long and it sounds like the Kent Bash is going to be a regular monthly do at the very least.

Is it really that difficult to scan the events section for new threads once a week, or am I missing something here [?]. Having said that I'm happy to go with the consensus on the best way forward so lets hear what peoples preferences are.......

We all had a great day at the Kent Tc bash venue today, thanks to all who showed up and made it a brilliant laugh!!

I personally will not be scanning through all the other forum threads looking for possible bash dates. I will however try my hardest to get to the dates agreed upon on this thread (with enough warning!). As for confirming whether or not you are comming, I can see how it could affect people comming from further afield but to be honest if a date is set and only I were to turn up I would still have a good time regardless.

So this is how I am going to play it....I will be at the Kent TC Bash ground at 9:00am on Sunday the 1/5/05 IF anyone wishes to come and join me for a drive you are more than welcome.

Well l am glad this has been sorted. Belly count me in on the May date.

Though l do agree. To start a new thread stating that the venue was cancelled was a bit underhand. We are all subscribers to this thread. l personally had it set in my diary that that was the date agreed on.

With regards to a new thread. Lets not. l have a hard enough time just getting to know how these things work let alone finding things in a forum. If anyone wishes why not cut and past this link when they advertise a new date so that people will have several chances of finding us and on seeing this 10 page thing will only excite them into knowing what a great bunch we are.

And with regards to traveling all that way to only find 3 people there.....so what!!!!!! l travelled 70 odd miles down there one Sunday and met up with 80skid and Bratman and we had a blast. 1. 2. 3. and so on....it's not the number of people, it's participation that makes these things work (like running your soft roader Pajero Bratman )

So lets not hold this blip against anyone and enjoy what is fast becoming a great venue. See you at the next one.
