OK we have a date and a venue both of which are 99% defo, so start prepping for action now.

The date is 28th/29th May and the venue is Kidderminster.

(Onroaders will have to be patient a little longer - or be a bit more proactive in sorting out a venue [;)])

Its a bit later this year for a few reasons the main one being that the track is being used for national championship racers for the month before this, so as you tear around with your 20 yr old buggy you'll be follow in the tracks of those racers that are going off to Italy to represent the UK in this years World Champs.

Also being later in the year give us all time to get ready - well try and organise races well in advance this year and get the running order sorted before we even get there so people know what to bring and when to be ready.

And finally hopefully being almost June the weather will be a little kinder to us - fingers crossed.

More details to follow.

If any one is interested the first round of National Champs is on at the track on the 30thApril (2wd) and 1st May (4wd) if any wants to go an watch. They are expecting 120 top class drivers to turn up. (Glad I'm not organising that!)

Well done Chris, thanks for your efforts once again. Few people realise what goes into organising these so it's a big hats off...!

I guess it's pertinent to mention at this point for newer members / ppl that couldn't make it last year that Kidderminster's off road circuit is approximately 75% Astro Turf. This means that i/c cars cannot be run on the circuit (nitros / marders etc). There is an area the far side of the car park which SynchroCNC tore up in great style last time with his Mugen, so you can still bum about with the noisy smelly cars...! (Still gotta use the peg board though...!)

I'm excited already...![^]

Anyone who went to Kidderminster last time care to comment on whether you'd be able to run the likes of the Tamiya rally type cars on there?

By then I'll hopefully have the increased ground clearance Scooby, my TB-01 Lancer and possible an M-04 based rally car. Would love to be able to run these on the track [:)]. Sadly the only off roader I have is the Hummer, which is a bit "tippy" and doesn't really do the "corners at speed" thing very well [:0]

Cheers,

Chris

We ran porsche 959, which are 1/12th scale rally ok.

Best bet is to check out the pictures and video from last event it'll give you a good idea of what to expect.

Cheers

Wow, I found the site for the Kidderminster track with pics:

Have bought my ticket already - my first major TC event [;)]. Would love to arrange a night time "special rally" stage, I think my Scooby and Lancer with increased ground clearance should handle that track no probs - maybe just back off for the bumps a bit [:0].

Noooooo[:(][:(]. I come back from America that weekend, and dont land until mid morning Sunday. I even bought a Hornet purely for the event too.

The date and venue are now 100% confirmed. So get your tickets now.

Tipsy come straight there from your hols (I think Twinset did the same last year] you get a good few hours in and we'll have a hornet race just for you. [;)]

Cheers for the idea Chris, but by the time I get back home to pick up the kit(oppsite way to Kidderminster[V]), and drive back it would be late afternoon. Ah well, will have to buy loads of RC in America to make up for it...

While Biggus was successfully running his mini around the track I ran my touring car, converted with rally shocks and rally block tyres. As most of the track is basically bumpy carpet it ran with no problems, in fact it handled better than my buggies did.
