After the threads on Essex and Cambridgeshire, I thought a thread on places to run in this region would be an idea. I am in Suffolk when not at uni and would love to be able to meet up with a few members for some running in the summer when I am back. Having talked to other Members in Suffolk, I don't seem to be the only one who thinks this! I'll start this off by suggesting somewhere in Mildenhall Suffolk I was at today. It's located on a public green with a nice, big, grassy flat area nearby as well as a few skate ramps. Nitros don't seem to be a problem as we were not stopped by a police car doing the rounds and there is parking for a good few cars. More details and pics in the following link;

Yeah sounds a good idea, would be good to meet a few more people and just have a good laugh doing something that we all enjoy. At the same time i will look over my way at more places for everyone to meet and have a run, maybe more on the side of off roading or a bit of trialing and stuff im sure i can find somewhere

Bummer, south is better for me. But North is probably only an hours drive or so, I'll take a look on the aa site and see..... Yep, an hour and a half for me so I'll be up for a visit if there's a meet planned [:D]

Sweet! If anyone else can think of anywhere that may be a bit more convienient or just better, feel free to post pics and details. I wouldn't mind having a go on some terrain more suited for crawling, the XC and Heavy Metal haven't been run for a while [:D]

Let me know if the Mouldyhole (that's what we call Mildenhall!) meet goes ahead and I'll try and get a car together! [8D]

Darn.... Even though i just love getting together i a large group for som serious bashing, i still have to say that going to Britain to play with RC-cars is a bit too much for me, as i live near Aarhus in Jutland, Denmark.. (If anybody tries to find it on a globe, give me notice when you have done so)..

Jutland is, if anybody should wonde, the small peninsula-like thingy, emerging from the top of Germany..

Cheers....

Oh, i just forgot.. Here where I live, Anglia is only known as an old car by Ford, with a very strange looking rear window... (giggle, giggle)

I live in Lakenheath. Consider me in guys. We have a small track on base for nitro or electric on or off road. It's free too but there is no power so you will need a dc charger and your car battery.

What happened to the track behind the Smoke House Inn? Usedd to race there - it had a proper time keeping hut with a driver's rostrum on the roof etc? [xx(]

No idea. I've never been there but I'll check it out. Behind the smoke house is more housing. I know the guys tell me that they use to race up at the school. I'll check it out today.

Well I am from Halstead and looking for people to run with. I have a King Blackfoot, Fighter Buggy and TB-01 Subaru WRC99, sadly I have not found anyone else in my area who does this. I have a car so travel is not a problem unless it is pointlessly far. Sounds good though!!!!!

It's got to be Thetford Forest (well that's what I call it but it isn't actually - Ickneild Way or something?) one end of it is at Icklingham, the other is near the Anglo Saxon village. It's just HUGE and it's a byway so you can drive to where you want to be and work from the back of your car, or sit IN your car and stuff sandwiches! Anyway, there's grassy bits, pathy bits, gravelly bits, yumpy bits etc but it's a Forrestry thingy so better keep to electric (sorry Nitro sniffers!) and Taz? If you turn up with a 1/4 scale Jackrabbit? ..I'm gonna kick it!! B))

Why not??? it will be fun i will get to kill 1/10 all day we can play destruction derby so who still runs. Anyway seems as it will on;y be electric i will take along the wildone and hopefuly the bruisejero if its finished (lol)[:I]

Well I'm usually developing Jugg suspension so I spend most of the time hacking across ruts the wrong way waiting for something to bend - but I have driven my Scorcher down there with no damage, oh and the Brat's been down there too. There's no tarmac so circuit cars are out but it would be ideal for buggies and Monster Beetle type stuff - no Nitro though because people fish in the adjacent main pit. I love it down there because there's lots to explore - give me a shout and I'll meet you (or anyone else) there for a bash and a natter!

It's looks pretty tough terrain, I'm guessing it would be trialing and jumping only or am I mistaken?

So there is some smoother stuff as well then? From the pics it looked like a buggy would get swallowed by the ruts! No nitro is no problem for me, I don't have any that work, lol. I'll be well up for meeting up once I get back home from uni in about a month.

I'll bring a spade then! :oD It's mostly a sort of dried up river bed type surface mainly clay - jeese you guys worry! They're only model cars! B))

I'm not that worried, just trying to get a better idea of what is runable. So far I'm thinking Emaxx needs to be broken there while a trials course could be a definate plan. Should be good for a laugh for sure!

I've never seen an r/c trials course in my life but if you'd been there yesterday you'd have been able to watch my Jugg2 topple over, then slowly roll down a 20' bank! Is that trialing? [:(]

Sounds like a trailling incident, lol. I've only seen them online but they look like a bit of fun and a challenge. Should be easily doable with a few brightly coloured tent pegs as gates.
