Hi folks, I'm new to the site but have already noticed some people in Germany making some noise! If there's anyone in the North of Germany, i.e. Luneburge Heide area, then please reply. I've seen some mentions of the Intermodelbau in Dortmund, would like to go if work/permitts the time.

Hope to hear from someone soon!

Not from the north, but I'm gonna visit Intermodellbau together with technical.burp on Wednesday, May 13th.

Still unsure if there will be a bash around due to missing an appropriate location though. Maybe there are members from Dortmund watching this thread, who could give us some advice on a descent tarrain. Our best bet so far was (again) Haltern/Silbersee, but things have changed there recently. Anyway it would have been approx. 50km from Dortmund which is a little too far. Places in or around Dortmund would be most helpful!

Wow, thats cool..

A couple of friends a myself are also going to Dortmund wednesday.

We are leaving home, tuesday night, and expect to arrive in Dortmund in time for the opening of the show.. We are not from Germany, though, but originating from Aarhus, Denmark, so we have quite a bit of travelling to do before we get there..

Have just been to the bank today, to exchange some money to Euros.. Who knows??.. You just might spot something sownthere that you just cannot live without..

How do you plan on finding eachother downthere??.. Will you be wearing a hat with huge antennas or something??

Hope we have a chance to bump into one another downthere.

(Will return to this thread to have a look, and perhaps, we can make some sort of arrngement, about finding one another)

Cheers..

Welcome to the club! [8D]

Me (DJTheo) and also clubmembers Beermoker and Bluesbrother are from the north of germany, unfotunately we can't make it to the fair this year due to different reasons, but maybe we can arrange a meeting another time.

Cheers

Well, Theo (and of course, others also).. If you´d ever fancy a trip to Jutland, you are all much more than welcome to come for a visit... As long as you remember to bring a couple of cars.

I know that several people from Germany likes to spend their holidays in Ebeltoft, and actually, i live on the way there, when coming from the E45 highway, and going towards Ebeltoft.

I live in a smalle house in the countryside, with a small offroad racetrack in the garden, and also, we are able to set up a trialcourse in a hurry..

And to those who are going to the fair... Could we think of a way to get to see eachother???

Cheers, and hoping to see some of you downthere.

Hi folks,

Thank you all for replying. DJtheo, I have sent you and some of your friends an email after seeing you on the map of members. Hope you can get in touch.

As for those of you wondering how to meet up at the fair, here's how. You could all wear a badge, (one of you could draw it easily on the pc and then email it, print it and then wear it). It doesn't have to be a big one but decide on a colour, all wear it at a certain time and stand in the cafe or near the entrance. Just don't stand by the toilets for too long!!! Once you're all there you can take you badges off so you don't feel stupid!! All wear hats and put the badge on it, just a coloured circle. The ideas are endless and it would be a shame for those of you who are traveling long distances not to meet each other. Hope this helps you a bit.

Kind regards,

Karl.

Well, that sounds a bit crazy.. I am planning on wearing a pair of Leather trousers, the kind used by bikers.. My hair is VERY short, and i have blue eyes, no glasses, moustache, and i am approx. 1,84 m tall.. I am coming with 2 others, one of them will be easy to see, as he has got loooong hair and a small beard, and the last guy you wont notice at all..

I don´t even know if we will be able to SMS eachother while downthere????..

If any of you would like my cellphone-number, please drop me a PM. with your number, and of course, your area/country code, and i will send you either a SMS or my number my number in a mail. I would, however, prefer NOT to post my number in here, but throw me a PM, and lets find out what to do.

Cheers..

Hi all,

I just managed to go to the Intermodellbau tomorrow (on wednesday), too.

I already did a badge, so hopefully I will walk over somebody's feet... [;)]

Im just so stupid with computers so i can´t fab up a badge myself.. However, i am wearing leather trousers, a dark blue jacket, over an old LRP "Blue is Better" T-shirt... Normally, my eyesight is very good, so if some of you suddenly feel a tap on your shoulder, it might be me!!.. LOL, Hope we are able to find one another downthere.. We are leaving here at 3:30 tonight, and expect to arrive in Dortmund at opening time (9:00) tomorrow morning. As i see it, we have approx. 600 kilometres to go.. Phew.. Hope it´s worth the drive.. (And hopefully, there are some folks selling vintage parts downthere, as i am missing a few bits for a couple og projects)...

Cheers.

Ooooouuhh, that was a long drive..

Well, we got back again from the Intermodellbau in one piece, after a dreadful drive with a total mileage of 1.459 kilometeres down through Germany.. On the way back, we were fortunate enough to miss a couple of freeway exits, due to distracting talk.. Ooops, had to take a detour. (again).. Also, we managed to get stuck in those awful german things, known as STAU, which means that you are not getting anywhere at ALL!.. Arrgghh...

It seems to me, that everytime a yellow light is blinking near the Autobahn, everything just stops?????.... Hm, whatever, the show itself was VERY big, with lots and lots of stuff.. unfortunately, most of it was not very interesting, and i did not find any of the vintage-parts that i need. However, luckily i ran into Supergreg, who was wearing his TC-badge for recognition, and it worked very well. We had a, (in my opinion) very nice talk about our ongoing projects and things to come.. It is always funny when you get to meet the people you know from the Net, only for real. He is a very friendly guy indeed, and he also told me that he is going on vaction in Denmark from time to time, and of course, he has now got a standing invitation to come for a visit the next time he comes here, and of course, this also goes for all other TC-members.

All in all, it was an OK.trip, but VERY long indeed. When we got back home, the onboard com. in the car let us that we have had an average speed of 124 km/h throughout the whole day.. Not so bad, considering stau and detours.

However, i must say that i am not going to drive so many kilometers again, and not getting any of the stuff i needed, but hey, now i can say: "Been there, done that"...

Cheers..

Hi gozone,

Glad to hear that you had a great time in Germany, apart from the Stau or two! I think the Germans are attracted to yellow flashing lights in the same way that bees are to flowers!

I'm also glad that the Tamiya badge thing worked. I would have loved to have gone and met you. There will be other years I'm sure, maybe something in between now and then. Not between Oct-Apr though as I'll be in Iraq!

Did you manage to get anything for free whilst you were there?

Take care,

Karl.
