Please, please, please can we have the 'original' track layout at Kidderminster with the s-curves in the middle rather than the flat-out down the back straight setup that we ended up with on late Saturday and Sunday last year after 'overnight modification'....!

The original track was great in that it had wide open and sweeping corners on the the long straight at the front and a good technical section in the middle. I felt this was a great balance allowing beginners to benefit from the open parts and more skilled drivers to challenge themselves in the technical areas.

What we ended up with was almost effectively a big oval which aside from being boring in that you could drive 95% of it flat out with one arm behind your back, negates half of the point of the event for me and many others. If I wanted to go round in a circle I can do that in my back garden which is not only a lot nearer than Kidderminster, but it's bigger and as an extra bonus my mum is there to make me cups of tea...!!! [:P]

Please can we have the proper track this time...??? [?][?][?]

Here, Here!!! [^][^]

I agree with ya mate 100%

The track on the Saturday was perfect. I know some people like something a bit easier, But like youve just said. Ya can get 'easy' anywhere.

Let use the track to it's full potential. In other words, That's why were there anyway! [;)]

Can't wait!!!![:P][:P]

Get there earlier enough Saturday and you are both welcome to help lay the track out :)

To be honest I can't really remember the layout from last time, but I thought it only changed for a little while on sunday morning, literally a couple of races and then got changed back to how it was originally - but remembering was never my best thing ;)

But with the number of races we have on Saturday at least, there is going to be very little time for changing the track during the day (or for people learning new layouts) so pretty much what is set up for the first race will be there for the rest of the main day. Over night we can change it if required.

As for layout, it has to be something which suits everyone that is going, who we know are from all levels. Yes, technical tracks are more fun for serious racers or those with experience but they are just as frustrating for those racing for the first time, so we need to come up with something in the middle.

I remember the track saturday morning being a bit like this...

which seemed to go down well enough, but I'm up for suggestions, as long it caters for all[:)]

Cheers

That's the one, although it wasn't quite as wobbly...! [;)] What we ended up with was the top left being short-circuited so the entire infield was missing. Prior to that, just the top inner S was short-circuited making a big u on the infield which was passable, but the diagram you have above was by far and away the best track with bits to suit everyone. Spot-weld the track down in that position when you arrive please Chris [:)]

PS : Is anyone arriving Friday night this year...? I appreciate we can't use the track but we do get an early start Saturday...

id="quote">id="quote">Hehe, it was at least that wobbly when I drove my Monster Beetle with wobbly broken front wheels round it [:P].

That's the layout I remember and preferred, but I'm happy with whatever layout we end up with.

I will be getting there on Friday evening if it's allowed; last time we did some dusk and night driving with my Pumpkin, this year I've got some better lit models which I hope will be driveable too. Chris, is it okay to arrive/pitch on Friday evening, if so what time will the gates be open?

I might pop down on the friday night to get things set up. I'm not renowned for getting up before 9am at the best of times. I dont fancy doing the M6 at rush hour either.

The Gates will be locked until 7pm Friday - so there is no point turning up before that. After that its all ours. Let the racing commence.

7PM sounds good to me, better than having to wait inside until the early hours to make sure we don't get shot with a BB gun, lol. Sounds like I need to sort something with lights!

I'll be there on the Saturday. No chance with RS. Don't want to risk it getting a soaking in the rain let alone getting wacked by stray golf balls...! [xx(]
