A couple of bits of info if you haven't been to the track before, which I would have found useful last year:-

  • There is a Tesco within about 3/4 of a mile of the track (so you can get your provisions there if you need any grub or stuff). There's also a small town with various shops.
  • If you are camping, get some heavy duty tent pegs! The ground is very gravelly just under the surface, and the tent-pegs you get with most tents will just bend.
  • Toilet facilities are average (though I believe they've been improved since last time) but okay. You might want to bring your own soap though, and a torch [:)] (This might be improved now, the toilet blocks were vandalised just before the TC meet last year).
  • If you park your car close to the toilet block, you might find it gets hit by a stray golf ball from the driving range next door. There were a couple of longshots which came over the top last time. If you value your car, it might be worth parking it on the other side away from where you pitch your tent.
  • Nitro's arent allowed on the track as far as I know, but there is a largeish field next to the parking/camping area with enough space to run nitro trucks or buggies. There's no place suitable for nitro on-roaders though. (I should be bringing the Savage and a ramp if I can fit them in the car, if anyone else wants to join me for an out of racing hours nitro bash)
  • If you have a fast car, go easy on the dual carriageway near the track - it's a popular nightime street racing spot, and is likely to have Police with speed guns there at any time

Hope these tips are of some help to people who haven't been there before. Can't think of anything else at present, but if anyone's got any other useful tips please add them here.

Thanks for that.

Just one more thing - even if you are not running on the track YOU STILL NEED TO uSE THE PEG BOARD FOR FREQUENCIES and people racing on the track in events have priority on those frequencies so check its not booked before taking a peg.
