One of the few tracks to have gotten back to me that seem to tick all the right boxes for one of our onroad events. We are still talking about costs but they appear to have a slot in 24th/25th September. Normal format 2 days camping onsite, lots of carparking, no problem with trading, sole use etc. Only real issue is toilets, at the moment they only have the temporary kind, although they are working on it.

Nothing is decided yet, just checking out what everyone thought and who would be up for it.

I'd definately be up for it, but I'd need the exact dates to be sure. This one is a lot more dooable for me as it's much closer than the others. Ironic aswell, because we drove past Kemble Airfiled on the weekend [:)]

I do nationals with a couple of lads that are running this club and it all sounds like they want big things to happen there, count me in.....

Is there anywhere decent and cheap(ish) to stay nearby? (Don't really fancy camping) And how strictly 'on road' is it likely to be? I only have one truly on-road car (M03 Mini) but could put some road tyres on Gravel Hound, Blitzer Beetle etc. for the day.

I'll buy a ticket, although whether I can actually make it or not I don't know. Looking at the pictures on their website, it looks extremely on-road. This will be nice, as I haven't run my Mini or 350Z for a while now.

I would definitely be interested in this, would there be provision for (a) some sort of jumpy bumpy things for offroaders and (:) other makes than Tamiya? (reason I ask is that I've got some onroaders but they aren't Tamiya, and driving a smooth track without bumpy jumpy bits can be a bit dull with the buggies).

I would be interested in this too - would be nice to try my M chassis Alfa on a proper track and hopefully I'll have the Mazda Eunos built by then too.

Would be great if there was an area of smoothish loose dirt nearby we could use for a rally track [:)]. My Stratos should be ready to go by then and I'll be itching to try it out!

Murfick - that looks promising for some rally action. Have you seen the areas in question, and how flat are they?

Don't know if its possible, but I was wondering about marking out something like one of those spectator rally stages like the one at Silverstone, maybe with a homemade crossover to add a bit of interest [:)]. Nothing fancy, maybe just a figure of eight with a few extra bits in it. Would be great to have something for a bit of rally action as the offroad / buggy tracks are sometimes a bit much and the on road circuits don't offer much for the rally enthusiast like me!

Its the loose surface that is probably the most important incredient for some true slidy action.....

Looks good to me, count me in. Both the date and the venue suit me fine. Although that said, i'd drive to Scotland for a weekend meeting if i had to [:P]

Looking at the aerial photos on the club site, so long as the club has access/permission there should be plenty of space to set up a grassy offroad track. Doesn't look like there's a loose/gravelly area though, but a rally circuit on grass should be possible? unless we all bring some gravelly dirt with in our trouser turnups and nonchalantly shake it out on the tarmac access road when we get there in "Great Escape" style [:P]

Having had a chat with a friend of mine who flys into Kemble very often, the arial photo is a bit out of date, however where I have marked on it, there are to loose sand/gravel areas. The one is a dumping area for building waste, so would probably suite some extreme bashing and crawling. When he goes again he will get some better shots of the areas.

Count me in please. I have loads of cars I used to use for the eurocup a few years ago that I can dust off! Also I know this area fairly well and think it would make a great weekend away.

cheers Chris.
