Well he recormended I come to one of ure bashes, well unfortinately I live in pershore a gd 3 hrs from u, however I do have relatives in bury st edmunds area so any chance we can get a meet up and running when Im next over - car park sounds g for my on road - lookin at a dark impact to go with my Xc and T3 pajero as well. Well there's always 'lorry spotting' I suppose, or the Red Lodge Inn ..or the famous Red Lodge 24hr cafe? On balance I would recommend they drove back to Bury and picked you up later! We do have a Bury correspondant but he's all luvved-up at the moment so he'll probably not read this until Tuesday! [:D]

Actually I've escaped her for the night so it's only taken 21 hours for me to respond! Red Lodge sounds like the best bet for running, it's only about 10-15 minutes away from Bury by car and will suit the offroaders perfectly. You won't be able to use your tourer although the TB-01 would be great on the gravel. Let me know when you're next here and we'll sort something out, hopefully I'll have inherited my Dad's Metro by then!

Well that's me just about sorted - all cars rebuilt/repaired following the last KB, all cells double-peaked, TX cells charged ..just got to paint Helen's Blitzer Beetle and I'm done! [H]

We will be bringing the Mod Clod, Wild Willy2, Manta Ray, Blitzer Beetle, Midnight Pumpkin, and the WRC Focus. See you there! [:D]

An update - I ran the idea past dad when we came back from the dentist  [:D] all gd after my rugby smash lol - and he didn't shoot me down in flames and seamed rather interested as a place to race his touareg when we are over next - are there any beach like areas that are similar to the pics in my showroom as that was awesome fun.

Mr_P - Will u have ure citroen ZX up soon? as I hopefully will have a dark impact based Pajero T3 runner.

cheers Ryck

You're well organised Buzz [:)]. I've just got back from Legoland and am about to start charging my stick packs and fixing the cars now. I'll be bringing the Lunchbox, Pumpkin, Monster B and Ezilla, and I might bring along a couple of other runners but not sure yet. I need to do a repair to the LB steering, which might have to wait until I get there, but the others are all running.

Looks like the weather might be pretty good too, I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I will get there in the morning, depending on how well I get up! See you there [H]

Well that was another great bash day, weather held up nicely and the Ezilla got a good thrashing. I even braved a few jumps with the Lunchbox and didn't break a single body post [:D]. I've got some video footage which I will try to get uploaded in the next few days, mainly the Blitzer and rally cars in the dustbowl.

And remember Buzz, "They're not toys" [:P]

LOL! Yeah that was a bit embarrassing (my 4yr old son kept fiddling with my cars so I exclaimed "..just leave them alone Michael ..they're not toys!..") - well, I know what I meant! [:$]

That was a really good EB yesterday, must be the increase in woman keeping us all amused perhaps? ...Penny attacking Mr P with a bottle of Evian water amused me anyway!! [:D]

Bazman was on-form with his usual display of carnage and destruction (he's been to more EB's than I have!) - a bash ain't a bash until Baz turns up with 'el rampo'! [:)]

I look forward to seeing the vids Alan and John!

Yup, I enjoyed myself too. Just hope the ESCs Penny killed dry out as well as my shirt!

Ryck, there is sand at Red Lodge although no beaches for a good few miles. My ZX won't be running I'm afraid, that's one car that will be staying on my shelf!

Ahh superb - That i think may be the ticket to getting some transport there lol - Time for the Touaregs and hopefully a dark impact based T3 pajero. Shame bout the ZX you should get it copied. lol water and esc's don't mix tho our touaregs do have sand boxes [:D] lol.

Well the next KB is not until 22nd October and I've already got an itchy trigger finger! Should we have another EB before then? If so, how many of you would be up for it? ...has El-Rampo recovered enough yet Bazman?

Ok...

Ladies and Gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to announce that Eastern Bash XI, (that's eleven for those with Media Studies degrees), will commence at 9.30am on 8th October at Red Lodge.

...be there or be square guys! [:D]

You must, you must! ..we need to run our E-Zillas! [:D]

Besides, Matt hasn't been out for a play for a while now and his A-Tech will have some company with Pushrod's new Mini-Zilla! [:)]

Good to see you at Snetterton btw - I had a fantastic day and drove the wheels off my Mini, I wanna go back there sometime soon - maybe we should do an Eastern Bash over there every now and then to get give our road cars (or re-tyred buggies) some running! In any case there's plenty of ramps for the off-road stuff there too! What's the general opnion guys? ..an occasional on-road Eastern Bash or keep it off-road only?

I'll have some new cars to try at EB on the 8th - hope to see you all there! [H]

I'll do me best mate [:D]. My Ezilla is now resplendent with Deans connectors all round, and I took the receiver switch off, it crumbled into 4 or 5 bits when I unscrewed it, so that's getting replaced too! And now that Wild Willy has had a taste of running, he's keen to see some offroad action..

I like the idea of the occasional Snetterton meet, but it's quite a long trawl for me; Red Lodge is an easier trip. I would've liked to have given the 'Zilla a go on the ramps on the offroad section of the track. Snetterton is pretty handy for the on-roaders, and it makes a change for the cars to come back with green tyres instead of being covered in mud n stuff [:D]

Hmm, Matt's A-Tech is mine actually [;)] but he's been talking about coming along to a bash day so maybe I'll be able to swing it with Mission Control by saying I'm just doing the fatherly thing taking my lad out for a day hehe. Perhaps the A-Tech, Mini-Zilla and my Mini-T could have their own Mini Adventure. I could bring the NB16 too, but he would have to sit on the sidelines and watch as there's no noisy nitros allowed.

Ahh I see, I quite thought the A-Tech was his! Actually I have one (albeit a rather hopped-up one) coming from Belly pretty soon which I have aquired for 'research' purposes - I'm planning to buy the kids one each for Xmas and obviously I have to make sure they're suitable! [;)]

Right then well I'll be bringing the E-Zilla for a gentle first outing (to guage the gear ratio changes I've made), Wild Willy2, Focus WRC, Midnight Pumpkin and Terra Conqueror - Helen will bring her Blitzer Beetle along at some point I believe too.

So who else is coming? [:)]

Posted

I will be there, with a reborn fighter buggy! For bash antics as usual. Any idea what the weather is going to be like?

Posted

Don't know about the weather - could even be our very first wet EB maybe?

There's a link to the weather forcast thingy on www.eastern-bash.co.uk - it's been pretty accurate so far but check it again Saturday night or Sunday morning.to be sure.

See you there! [:)]

Yeah I'm all set too, just got to....

...fit the spoiler back onto the Focus, re-glue the tyres and feed it some more rear driveshafts (locked diff + grippy track = broken stuff) - install an ESC in the Terra Conqueror and fit a Deans on it, change Wild Willy's motor and find an 18T pinion, put the gearbox back in the E-Zilla, re-shrink a stick pack and fit a Deans to that - glue the rubber steering 'tyre' on my handset to stop it slipping and set up a WW2 profile, find and pack all my tools, re-peak 3 stick packs and feed the Guinea Pig.

See you there! [:S]

I'm thinking we need a new Eastern Bash site - the current one is okay but it would be good to have somwhere with some tarmac for the on-road cars, rather than purely off-road like Red Lodge. Ideally we want somewhere with the best of both but it's easier to run on-road cars off road than vice-versa - we have various ramps availabe to us anyhow. So, can everyone have a good think about any possible sites and let me know as soon as possible please? We need somewhere which has..

A deserted or remote (at least on Sundays) location which is unlikely to incur interference and/or complaints from locals. Good (and safe) parking for our real cars. A decent area of tarmac or concrete for the on-road cars.

Get thinking chaps - a new venue means more r/c for all of us! [:D]
