I like Red Lodge, it's just about within a reasonable drive from Essex and not bad for offroading (shame that we can't use the gravel pit any more though). If there's another venue, could I vote that it's in the same area, possibly a little to the South? Snetterton was a good venue, but took a long time to get to from Essex because you have to go on the little diddy roads with all the speed cameras..

When's the next EB then? Is it this coming Sunday (12th Nov)? The E-Zilla is rewired and itching to do some graceful cartwheel jumps [:D]

I agree that South would be prefferable to North as you and Baz come from Essex and there are people who travel up from London and Kent usually too. If we end up with a choice of venues we can all discuss it then but, as things sit, I have had precisely NO suggestions or ideas so it looks like we'll be staying at Red Lodge anyhow! [:|]

Don't forget that (generally) one can have more fun with stuff like E-Zillas on tarmac anyway you just won't have to clean them afterwards - besides, Baz will always have El-Rampo with him! [:D]

As for when the next EB is, you lot can tell me!  ..the reason I've not set a date is purely because I've not got around to thinking about it! [:$]

Hi Clarkey, there's always space for new people at the EB [:D]. Well for me next Sunday (19th) would be good I think, how about everyone else?

Posted

I'd like to get together with anyone on a Saturday to go out looking for a new place and get some running done at the same time.  What about Theford forest??

Posted

Fine with me - the 19th it is then!

Josh, a Saturday EB would be un-workable as the majority of drivers are only available on a Sunday.

Ok next one (EB12) is on Sunday 19th November - the website (www.eastern-bash.co.uk) has been updated to suit - see you there! [H]

Josh: You'd be better off searching in the fens (between Stretham and Upware for example) for a decent site if you want to start a Saturday bash - there's not much along the A142 worth stopping for. [;)]

I should check out Weeting and Feltwell since nobody goes out there. There's some construction also so it could provide tons of dirt.  I know there's a small super soft sand pit just next to the F-15 viewing area on RAF Lakenheath. Might test out my clod there.

Good stuff, looking forward to it already. The E-Zilla should be back in action now, I'll be giving it a quick road test in the week to make sure it's ready to run, and I think that the WW2 will be out for a play too. Might even bring the old Super Astute with me too, but I may leave it at home cos I don't want to make it dirty. Apart from that I'll have the usual (Pumpkin, Lunchbox, Monster Beetle) and lots of lighty flashy colourful things too. I'm hoping that the LB and WW2 will have some illuminations ready, better get the old soldering iron fired up [8-|]

Batteries are on charge now, looks like the weather's going to be kind to us tomorrow [H]. I've not got as many cars together as I hoped, but the WW2, Lunchbox, Pumpkin, Monster Beetle, Ezilla will be there for a run. See you all tomorrow!

Gawd that was a cold one wernit? Still, despite the low temperature it warmed my heart to find that Bazman had written three cars off before I even got there, good effort mate! Oh and cheers for the WW2 photos John - much appreciated. Hey Baz did you get some vid of my underwater wheelie attempt then?

Right well I've been fiddlin' with the EB website (www.eastern-bash.co.uk) to make it easier to use for people like ME who can't be bothered to wade through several similar-looking pages only to not find what you want ..now there's only TWO pages and they both look different! Yay! I'll be adding some more photos (watch out cos I have some 'people' shots too btw! MWA HA HA HA..) but what you see is pretty much the whole thing done - if you've got stuff to sell just email me and I'll add it.

When I get me work rota (couple of week's time) I'll stick a date up for the next one, meanwhile, how many shopping days until Christmas?? [:'(]

Yep, chilly wasn't the word for it [:o]. I think my Ezilla electrical repairs worked, couldn't resist storming into those deep puddles at top speed though and it soon started to stutter. It's almost dry now, so I think I'll give it a spin later in the week to see if it's okay.

I've never seen so many cars brought to a wet electrical death in such short succession before; Baz's waterproofing test experiments proving that some extra balloons could have been a good idea [:D]

I took a different route home this time, through the B-Roads of Suffolk and North Essex, with the satnav insisting "Turn back as soon as possible" and "Make a U turn" every 5 minutes. Took me an extra hour, but almost 30 miles less than the motorway, and much more of a fun drive.

Looking forward to the next one around Xmas time hopefully(?), with luck it will be a bit drier and less arctic.

We can have a bash around Xmas if you like John no problem - I'll not get my work rota for a few weeks so there is a slight chance of me having to work the odd Sunday ..but even if I am there's nothing to stop you lot having fun!

Just chuck some dates at me (watch out for KB date though) and I'll stick it up on the EB website. [:)]

I might actually be busy that day [:o] Ill have to see if i can arrange something, I wouldn't want to ruin my 100% attendance record [:P]

I'm not sure that I'll be able to make this one - too close to Xmas and I've still got some shopping left to finish [:(], but I'll do my best to get up there for the afternoon.

Too close to Xmas? You're the one who said "Looking forward to the next one around Xmas time hopefully(?)" - Lol! ..well I won't be there because I just can't be bothered anymore!
