Can my Thunder Dragon play? icon_twisted.gif

Hardly a fair fight now, is it ?, my TF has a 19t single, Moley's Manta is the one that Adam had with a daft Orion motor in it & that TD is brushless & has vertical take-off!!!

But yeah what h€ll :P

hehe good stuff - so is it Snetterton or Red Lodge? If we bring tools to sort the "track" I vote Red Lodge?

Red Lodge is fine by me.

I'm still itching to get a blast with the tourers so an informal meet at Snet before the big one in August would be good, say towards the end of June / early July ?

Well lets do Snetterton then? I am fine either way and its looking likely to be just you, me and moley and perhaps Ed? I fancy some drifting or off-roading - Im easy either way :P:(

How far is snet compared to red lodge and the cost , due to the MP's spending all my money on duck houses im short of funds.

Plus only have one tourer.

Its about another 15 miles and is £3 for half a day or £6 for all day...

Depends what you want to run I guess - offroad or onroad?

OK then, let's do Red Lodge.

Levelling the track will only take 10 minutes with a rake.

If it's dry I can try my Stratos rally chassis out in the car park :P (must remember to screw the ballast weight on this time)

I'll make sure the buggies are fettled & top up the packs.

Red Lodge it is then!

If you run PowerPoles like Russ then I have loads of batteries too so you are welcome to borrow some :P

Will bring gardening tools too!

Matt's bringing a gnome (more commonly known as Oliver)

I have PowerPole to Tamiya adaptors.

I thought you were banned from fettling?

Only on weekdays :(

What a result - just dragged a rather sorry looking dirty Lunchbox from the corner of the loft thinking it would need motor, ESC and a receiver before Sunday and to my surprise when I took the shell off I had totally forgotten that it already had all those things! :) A quick trip around the garden shows that all is well, even the filthy Sport Tuned motor sounds healthy! :)

Bonus!

So that's the Lunchy and Thunder Dragon running - only issue I have now is that the Bush Devil has no pinion gear - there is one on the way from Time Tunnel - but I cheap skated the postage and went for second class - it should have been posted Tuesday so fingers crossed....

YAY!! Another Lunchie race :)

I think I have a pinion that will fit the Bush Devil, if I can find it, I'll bring it along.

Thanks Russ - thanks to 15 years of RCing on and off I have found my old Mud Blaster pinion which I believe is the same - its a little bit crows toothed but should be ok - if you have a spare please bring it just in case!

Well my LB is now rebuilt after it became a 2 part model. and the raven 17x3 is mental for it so ill run it till it breaks again.....

Manta ray....well its quick and fun to drive so ill enjoy testing it out.

grass hoppers back to a standard 540 and is still making odd noises , ahh well its Ollys now so im sure he will find a way to break it lol

D@mn so with Russ and his 19t Spec motor and you with a 17 triple my poor old Sport Tuned is going to be left trailing in your wake!

Just spent the last hour reviving the Bush Devil from the punishment that a 4300kv eZrun can dish out - screws coming undone everywhere and a ruined wheel hex were the only real casualties. Fitted the Superstock RZ back in it - just electrics to go and my three runners are ready for Sunday :)

Just finished the front suspension upgrade for the Munchkin, be interesting to see how it handles now, no bump steer, no toe in/out as the suspension moves & no front end collapse in reverse :)

So anymore for anymore or is it just the three of us?

What was that part number Russ? I have a few sheckles in my PayPal account so might do that....

Cheers Russ. (was looking at my rather forlorn 'Box and thought it could do with some love!)

I have an all day pass so no rush to get there - will probably leave mine to get there about 10am (its a 40 minute drive for me)

Hopefully we should get a good turn out, I've txt'd Ian & asked if he can pass the message on to Neil & Chris, plus I've pm'd m0nk666 & rustypole, both of whom are local.

Ed, you coming ?

CRP front end and bits ordered ;) Just need to search out a hotter motor that the TEU-101 can handle - which one of the Superstocks do you think might be best suited?

Cool should be a few of us then - cant argue with the weather forecast!

Either of the Superstock motors should make it a lot of fun.

According to the Tamiya US website, the TZ has stand up brushes & more torque, the RZ is lay down with more revs.

Torque is what's needed to lift the front, so on paper the TZ is the one to go for.

Having said that, the RZ in my SuperFoot can wheelie with a little encouragement, I haven't tried it with a TZ.

Edit: I found the post made by Terry.sc regarding these motors:

The 500g torque figure for both motors is the torque generated at 27,500rpm on the RZ, but at 26,500rpm on the TZ. The 500g figure does not cover anywhere else in the rev range, especially as most of the torque is produced at low speeds.

The laydown brushes on the RZ will produce more revs overall for the same spec motor, but it also means it's less efficient under load and can't generate the same torque over the whole rev range that the upright brush TZ does. At lower speeds (like when accelerating in a monster truck) the TZ is the better motor.
