Hopefully me and Sludgeguts will be there too!

It'll just depend what time we get back from Skegness on the Sat...Yes, Skeggy in October! LOL :lol:

Will be good to meet up with the guys from Snetterton again - we'll introduce ourselves properly this time Wolfdogstinkus!

With any luck my new Twin Detonator will be all ready to run by then :D

Where exactly is it in Red Lodge? :lol:

It is directly opposite the truck stop cafe. So we have a good supply of tea, coffee and fry-ups all day lol.

If anyone's wondering what that thudding noise is, it's me banging my head on the desk :lol:

Are we going for the 4th or the 11th? We seem to have lots of "either"s, one "no" for the 4th & one "no" for the 11th ...

For anyone that hasn't been before, the bashing ground at Red Lodge is basically the back end of the bit of ground the trucks park on to take advantage of the cafe, which is hard packed sandy soil with a light scattering of medium gravel on it, plus a lot of big/deep puddles and a couple of mud wallows.

There's also a narrow oval "track" on the area behind that - it's usually dry, but always seems to be pretty rutted (by MX bikes) - bring a rake!

"Big Wheel"ers like the Lunchbox, Pumpkin & Blackfoot are probably your best bet, 4WD buggies do ok, 2WD less so, rally cars will struggle, especially on the "track". Probably not great for crawlers either, though there are a few bits rough enough.

Take a look at the Eastern Bashers SIG - if it's tarmac in the photo it's probably Snetterton, if it's not tarmac, it's probably Red Lodge.

There's also a pub, or rather an inn there - Red Lodge - which gives the place its name. I'm up for trying a ruby there sometime, if anyone else fancies it?

Facilities (other than the cafe/inn) ... well, there aren't any other than what you bring with you, though Russ often brings a big 12v battery :D

I'm in the process of making another "worst presented car" trophy, so ...

Bring out your sheds! :)

"Rules":

The competition is open to cars of any brand, any scale, any motive power method - but it must be RC.

Any car entered must have a bodyshell of some description, and be capable of forward motion under its own power/have some semblance of steering - so full electrics/radio gear must be included. Entrants may be required to demonstrate proper operation, so we can point and laugh/take pictures.

The trophy will be suitably cheap, and have been constructed in a poor quality manner.

Judging methods may vary according to circumstances, and may be one of the following:

* Judging panel consisting of whoever I feel like asking;

* Waiting for a stray dog to select a winner by answering the call of nature on it;

or some such other streamlined method - possibly even outright democracy, where everyone present gets to nominate their favourite;

Attempted bribery of the judges (mines a bacon butty with brown sauce & a Fanta, thanks) is seen as standard practice.

Judging will take place at approximately whatever time we feel like it, but there will be some thought put in to when most people are likely to be present... Nah, we'll do it after lunch.

Anyone taking the competition too seriously may get mud put in their wellies when they're not looking :)

I am still ok for the 11th. spudgunns arrangements have changed and he is hoping to be there for the 4th but can't make the 11th.

I thought it was either the 4th or the 11th - not both ... and we've settled on the 11th ... haven't we? :)

Does anyone have a 27mhz steerwheel transmitter I could borrow for the day (or part of it)? Or a simple/cheap (like £5 sort of cheap) one I could buy?

I've never used one & I'm curious to find out whether I can actually get my aging head around using one.

And talking of cheap ... I'll be bring a box of tat to sell - around 30 DVDs (all exc cond, watched once or twice), Gameboy Carts, Dr Who Sonic Screwdriver, Ogri hat, bundle of 6 unused Playstation CD cases, few black XL biker T-Shirts (all worn a couple of times, but are clean & not faded), an Airzooka, Adventurer Jeep (see it from approx 19 seconds to 39 seconds in here), Lego Star Wars Landspeeder (with Luke & Obi Wan figures, complete, with instructions but box is tatty), 6” cast resin Cuca Bug (from “Enemy Mine”) – will need painting.

I'm going to say £1 each, apart from the landspeeder, which I'd like a fiver for.

Depending on just how bad my finances are looking, I may be needing to part with a few cars too - likely candidates are:

Gazwilt's Super Hornet/poor man's Rough Rider

my "new built" (by an idiot) Chrome pumpkin, never used, but have put a 3rd shock on it

my Mardave VRX/pumpkin low rider with a nearly new 4-cell 4.8v Nimh battery + NIP wheels & foam tyres. Only used for a couple of short laps at Snetterton, so has some scuffs underneath – and I did manage to grate the left side too :)

& my TL01 "badger" beetle

The beetle & the chrome pumpkin definately won't have any electrics in them other than the steering servo and a motor. The low rider & fake rough rider currently have ESCs & RXs in them, but probably won't have if I do decide to let them go.

I've posted this all here as it's strictly a "cash purchase out of the boot of my car on the 11th at Red Lodge" kind of deal - I can't be fannying about with paypal & postage atm.
