Gravel Rash 1/2 : by TWINSET

these will give u an idea what a crawler would do they go slow but still have that enjoyment of climbing that brick, kerb, compost heap, tree roots, shoes, u name it they would no doubt find away over it [;)] oh not forgeting any 1/10 that gets there way too [:P]

gives me a idea for the next theme [:P]

how many 1/10 cars can your crawler climb (would make a cool vid too) [;)] [;)] [;)] could add "no 1/10's were damaged in the making"

siv429,

The TXT is a bit pricier but out of the box all you need to do is lock the diffs and wire the motors in series and it is an amazing crawler.[:P]

Just my thoughts,

yep out of the box the txt-1 is practicly a crawler,

the super clod is a monster truck - big difference being suspension articulation!

the stock super clod has about 3 inches of articulation (meaning you can lift 1 wheel up 3 inches of the ground while the others are still on the ground)

and as far as crawlers go - 3 inches is rubbish [;)]

txt-1 must has something like 10 inches[?]

to make a clod into a crawler it needs a custom chassis, custom links, a different steering setup (servo needs to be mounted on the gearbox) plus the obvious locked diffs etc.... [:)]

to sum it up a out of the box a clod is a car crushing, mud sliding backyard poser/basher [:)]

a txt-1 is an extream monster truck that does all a clod can do but has the suspenion to take on the custom "mod clod" people [:P]

every time i write a post with the txt in it it makes me want one even more! [}:)]

Yes 3 speeders can be crawlers, anything can be a crawler, all crawlers do is climb over obstacles that seem to big to tackle. The vehicle being used or the size of the object is entirely up to the driver.

If you happen to enter a competition then you will have to meet certain criteria for available classes, but as far as rolling around in your back yard you can do what you want.

As soon as you slowly drive over something while carefully picking your course your Crawling![:D]

I think it came from people wanting to push their vehicles to the limit in a new way, and it opened the door for people to go crazy with suspension mods.[:P]

Me myself I can't get enough of it!

These are some photos of the articulation of the TXT-1 that has basically a stock suspension with the rubber shock stops (The only exception is the Tamiya cantilevers, removal of the rubber stops will increase the articulation).

Hey Mjohnston39,

Who makes those rod ends and where did you purchase them?

Looks like your truck has seen a lot of trails, looki'n good.

Actually you just need to remove 4 of its shocks, all their rubber tube way limiters and mount the remaining dampers lower and you get immediately almost double articulation for $0, here with some alu dampers (could have been also with th stock ones, which have similar travel) [8D]

Just tried Theo's no cost Clod modification and am very happy with the results! Over twice as much articulation and it hasn't cost anything[:D] Next job, steering.....
