Hey guys! I have finished my super clod buster went to use it and the steering seems to be a bit ******ed! When i try to turn the wheels dont change direction the chassis just rolls from side to side!?!? Have i not attached something? Is my servo not torquey enough? Please help someone! This is a bit of a let down and has got me thinking of selling it! (You get first shot paul [;)])

Cheers

its your servo i would say

servos have different power outputs i learnt this when flying

a sutable servo could be a futaba S9001 c/less BB .22s/3.9kg this is a high powered servo but are fairly exepensive about £20/25 u will want one with a high kg output this is what gives u the power to turn them big tyres an truck the .22 means how fast it is eg .22 of a second hope this helps

Keep it siv dont flog it [;)]

i dont think its your servo -

check the front and rear servo saver assemblies and the centre one, if they are too loose then the truck wont steer!

also check you have fitted the anti rotation brackets to the gearboxes, if these are left out it wont steer either!

make sure there is no play anywhere in the gearbox mounting parts and the swingarms.

ive operated my clod for years using a stanaerd servo and its fine (busted a few along the way but they have always worked for a few years [;)])

also make sure your steering setup isnt tight,

i would say its not the servo, a standard one should give some steering at least!

actually it sounds like the front and rear servo saver assemblies could be too tight, there a nut and bolt threaded verticly through the fronts of each gearbox, inside this assembly is a spring which is compressed by tightening the nut - this absorbs shocks that get transmitted through the steering, if the bolt is to tight it will be clamping the 2 small arms that are connected to the top and bottom of the gearbox - so all the power from the servo is being wasted as its simpley tring to push the gearboxes together or apart - that makes the chassis wobble from side to side.

hope that makes some sence! [:D]
