I have seen a few people on here have the Tamiya lightset fitted to their Jugg1/2 but does someone have a clearer picture of what some of the wiring involoved is?

Just curious to see what goes where exactly as I may consider making my own if I can get an idea of what is connected where.

I have had a look in the showrooms but still cant make it out cleary.

i THINK [:P] the power for the lights comes directly from the battery, using a splitter sort of thing that connects to the battery (using standard tamiya connectors) and the msc's battery connector. and has extra wires leading off to the lights. theres a switch in the circuit aswell, i think its a toggle one. [:)]

at least it must be less complicated than the 7.2 volt brake light set! [:P]

You can wire LED lights from the receiver, or small light bulbs could come from the receiver too. The alternative is to take the power directly from the battery, you would need resistors for LEDs or enough lightbulbs to add up to 7.2 volts or a voltage regulator if you are using lightbulbs.

I would recommend ultrabright LEDs if you are doing it from scratch, as they take less power than bulbs, and will last virtually forever. See my website article about my Pumpkin lights for some general instructions on LED wiring, that should give you some ideas and help.

Jozza, already seen your Pumpkin and your article, thanks.

I was thinking of getting the "offical" light set purely for the fact that it fits easily using the connectors but it just seems there is so much wiring and after fitting the neons I am running out of places to route it neatly.

I have ordered some parts from Ultrabright for the grand total of £8 that should hopefully do the trick and I should be able to run it all off one 9v battery for as long as that lasts,30secs probably by the time it is all running.

If anyone has some close up pics of the offical light set fitted I would still appreciate it.

My Porsche 959 MSC had wires with tamiya Msc reciever connectors fitted. They just fitted into the connector that came off the front light. The only thing was the lights only came on when the speedo was powering the motors. Saved the current on the 7.2v as well. The setup looked pretty standard Tamiya. but the 959 was quite advanced for its time.. i tried the same speedo with a connector that i made to power twin motors in My Jugg2 and it worked just fine.id="Arial">id="Verdana">id="size2"> id="size3">id="size2">id="blue">

The juggernaut lightset is pretty slick. It has a plug that goes between the battery and ESC or MSC. it uses a toggle switch with a diode soldered to it. switched one way, only the headlights work, switched the other way and both the headlights and roll bar lights work. The green hue of the roll bar lights is kinda lame though. I wish they would use the bright white ones used on the 1/14 semi MFC unit.

Okay guys thanks for the replies.

Like I said previously I have ordered the bits to make some myself then at least all the lights will be white as I found the bulbs in the front lights tended to look a bit yellowish as well.

I'm with Jim on the green lights. I for the life of me cannot fathom why they decided on green.... yuck.

Otherwise I like the way they look on my Juggy 2.

Just a quick pic of the lights all going.

Camera isnt very good in low light and it was difficult to get a balance of detail without drowning out the lights on the truck with the flash.

Hi All I am new here and are working on a Juggernaut2 to fit on my XC chassis and have a light set for it, Yes I agree why green it is a waste of time and the main lights are little blubs which do heat up!! What I am going to do is make my own with leds and use the battery conector that comes in the kit and run them from there, I have a Mini-z light set that goes from you battery and two wires to your motor, How it works is that it has a control unit with it that when you touch the trigger they come on-take your finger off on the trigger brake lights come (brighten) then after 10 seconds they all turn off if you don't touch the trigger, really good set. When I finish I'll post a video if I can. I am going to add the extra lights in after the control unit.

Heres a pic of what you get in the jug kit. HOW DO YOU ADD A PIC? I click on the link but It just puts img/img? how do you upload your picture?
