Antenna tube mounting

Sat in the bath last nite, wondering how come my belly button don't leak, when there's no apparent knot or stitching, when a solution to summat else struck me.

First try I had at mounting an aerial tube to my gecko, resulted in this;

It was ok, but a bit bouncy, and every now and then the sticky pad holding it on to the radio plate would 'un-sticky' itself.

(The o-ring came thru the shell, to limit it bouncing too much)

Last nites revelation was this;

It's a bit of bent plasticard, with a TB-01 aerial mount screwed to it, held on by the body post screws []

Try find one of those clamp-style aerial mounts, they clamp like a chuck on a drill. Think Atlas or Yokomo sells them.

Hey Willy - what do you bolt them to?

They'll bolt to anything eg touring car CF chassis. The clamped tube won't come out until it is unclamped, so the tube don't get ripped out in a rollover.
