Hi,

I just bought a nib TD and I was thinking of fitting the KO Propo 713

servo to it which was given to me. The question is what is the extra bit of wire on the servo and can I take it off.

Thanks.

do not remove that wire

unlike normal servos this servo needs 7.2v to make it work..this is where the extra wire comes in,this extra wire needs to be connected to the fet servo lead on your speedo,if it doesnt have one then it can be connected to the positive(red) wire on your speedcontroller that goes to the battery(not the motor)...also you may need a fet choke installing inline somewhere along this wire to stop the servo glitching if you are using a high frequency speedcontroller(most modern ones are..if you are using a mechanical speedo thenb you wont need the choke.
