Talking from experience (got a tlt, a max climber and a modded tlt)

If you serious want to race a 1/18th - dont get the tlt. By the time you finished modifying it you may as well have bought a better suited truck in the first place.

1. Lowering COG can be done with a new chassis. Its a bit lowerer with the max climber (as the battery sits lower) buy not much. The problem is the main gear box and center diff is just very tall.

2. Brushless motor. LOL in a stock chassis it would just doe somersaults on the spot. I imagaine to drive it would be hilarious. If you you want a comedy fun car then go for it.

3. Pretty much if you want to do any thing have serious with the TLT then you have to modify it. I went for the PRPTeam racing chassis, which I've tweaked to be more of a crawler.

more pictures here - all thats left of the tlt is the gearbox and axles

There are a few chassis around now, take a look over at terracrusher.net for some links.

You'd really need to increase the wheelbase significantly for racing so that it would be more stable and easier to control at speed. As Chris says - that means money in buying modified parts such as new suspension links/arms and also sliding propshafts.

thanks guys

i have a rc18t and a rs4 micro on way just wanted something diffrent, as with the rc18t there is so much in mods to do before it becomes bullet proof i thought the tlt-1 would be a good contender for my mamba when it arives through my letter box [:P]. thanks again for answering my questions. Btw nice truck netsmith am still swaying towards the tlt-1 they look [:P] as 1/18th scale

ok i have 2 traxxas sliding props of my rustler nitro,12 traxxas tie rods and fittings 60 traxxas ball joints, and a whole traxxas rustler for donor parts, i changed my mind with a brushless so am going for just a fairly quick tlt-1 racer. i have to pick the truck up tommorow.

could i use my traxxas sliders as a hopup for the prop drives to gearboxes and would it need any adjusting. and i shall be using the tie rods too as i can use them to extend the chassis alittle bit too i hope.

thanks for the help,an sorry to be a pain in the neck
