water proofing td

just won a twin detonator on ebay for £105 with all everything

how much would it cost to water proof them at standard condition as i can drive it in any weather then

Its not really a matter of cost as most of the solutions are homemade and so free. Main thing is just to cover the speedo and receiver in plastic bags or balloons. I didn't even do that with mine and ran it in all weathers and allsorts of puddles.

has that not affected the performance of the car at all??

not for generally bashing no as long as you give it a good shake and clean after. I dare say you do it every day through 6inch deep puddles it would eventually have an effect.

what about mud and water will that not affect the mechanical speed controller or is that a must to be water proof??

I have my Det motors in balloons and the receiver also. Use quality latex of about 11" diameter and cable tie the ends. I had concerns about the low and exposed nature of the motors on the det, but I have not noticed them getting hot or anything and aswell as keeping water out it keeps dust and mud out too. My Twin Det hasn't been waterproofed, and it spent most of this afternoon getting slung thru puddles - big enough space, but I reckon puddles are magnetic

Anyway, it musta gone thru puddles 20 times esy, just before it went all silly and wedged itself under my car - The receiver doesn't work no more, but I'm sure it's got nothing to do with water []

I killed a speedo in the TB-BB too

Twinset, I dont think my Det's ever been that clean! I think it came with free mud in the box[][]

It wasn't designed to be waterproof (Ripmax Volcano), and I proved them right!

Mind you, it did put up a fair fight
