I generally like to stick with companies that I like, and I have always had good luck with Futaba, however when I was gathering parts for my TXT I came across some Blue Bird servos for $13 less each and more torque than the Futaba ones. I bought them as a test, having the Futaba S3305's in one TXT I equipted my other with Blue Bird BMS 620MG's. Now that I have driven the new truck several times I am giving a good report on the Blue Bird servos.

The Blue Birds are rated at 126oz at 4.8v and 144oz at 6v.

The Futaba's have 99oz at 4.8v and 124oz at 6v.

Both servos are BB equiped and metal geared.

I bought the Blue Birds new off Ebay.

The 20oz really makes a difference, the Blue Bird TXT turns the tires much easier than the Futaba one.

Not that I have anything against Futaba but this saved me $26 and the performance is better.[:D]

Just thought this might help someone out.

Hey Mike, thanks for the heads up! i am thinking about buying a couple more servo's. I normally use hitec (very happy with btw) How much did you spend on one servo? I usually go with the 645's they are now only 39.99 at my lhs,they used to be 49.99. I also got one of hitech's 945 for my sons clod..very nice and solid servo. the specs on both are as follows;

hs-645mg speed .2 sec./60 degree's, 133 oz. torque @6 volts 39.99

hs-945mg speed .12sec/60 deg.,152.75 oz of torque @6 volts. 79.99?(may have gone down a bit)

On Ebay the Blue Birds were $24.99, it looked as though this guy sold them regularly as he had multiple auctions with high quantities in each.

From Tower Hobbies I pay $37.99 for the Futaba S3305's.

I saw these BlueBird servo's a while ago on Modelsport's website, they come in a nice funky translucent purple or black.

I did ask if anyone had any experience of them as I was thinking of getting a couple but no-one had used them, now that you say they are good I may still get a pair!!

I got the translucent black, from a distance it looks solid but up close you can see through it. I guess if I take that truck in water I will be able to see if the servo is taking water.[:P]
