Hi all,

I am rebuilding an old Clod, mostly stock, but for apperance I am putting on the hopup damper set, (53369)

I assembled them, put in the soft damperoil, and now no movement, not even a inch.

It's not lack of experience, I drove Tamiya cup and modified for years, but this is a mystery to me........

Is it that the ring on the pistonrod has no holes?

I'm used to TRF dampers having the choice of 1, 2 or 3 holes.

I don't have the manual so I probably miss something.

Happy clodding, Rick

You have to go through a process of elimination. Do the dampers move when off the truck? If they do then there is somethin wrong on the mounting.

If they don't move when off the truck then they could be either hydro locking or have an air bubble in them.

if there are no holes on the piston it should be loose in the damperhouse so the oil can flow past it....if it is tight you just answered your own question.

Found it!!

Found a manual online, ther's a L-shaped thingy which you use with assembly and provides the room for the piston to move.

Easy if you have the manual..............

Thanks for answering guys, cheers Rick
