I was just looking thru a load of Darryns new cars, when I saw this;

Not only does he collect NIB's but it looks like he might build them too[;)]

We got a CD player there and pics of the family so it must be somewhere he goes for a while.

Now, I gotta get her with the hoover to believe that I need a similar retreat, and was just wondering if you lot had some piccies of your work areas so that I can convince her that needing such a place isn't grounds for therapy[:D]

i got me own shed finally.

nice views of fields behind it, but i have to share the space with a lawnmower.

like shodog says, it too is too messy the show on here, but its my mess and i love it!

at least i know where everything is....most of the time.

My workshop is also in my garage. Ive actually had a double carport installed in front of it - for there is no more space for my 1:1 cars in the garage. The bad thing is that 60% plus of my models are on disply at a friends hobbyshop - since I dont have place for them and they attract alot of attention in the HS. In the garage is only my spares and projects and a few runners.

At this very moment the wife is making strange noises because the sitting room and the dining room also looks like my garage after a hectin custom project Ive done over the weekend.

Perhaps I need to buy the neighbours house - for a workplace for my R/Cs

I often confiscate the dining tabel as my work area and before my mum realises it it's full with stuff of my next project... [:P]

OOOOOOOOOOO EEERRRRRRRRRRRR - NO - that was not a Que for a dirty joke guys !! [;)]

Actually my point was that many people (NO FINGER POINTING HERE GUYSid="size1">id="red">) seem to get hung up on what others have / dont have...........

Collecting (I really do hate the term "collector" - I prefer enthusiast), should be about what you want and enjoy. It does not matter how big or small or old or new - or used etc that your pride and joys are...........you do it because YOU love what you have.......In the end - it is YOU that has to be happy......

Sorry Guys, I will climb off my soapbox now !![:I]

Cheers

Darryn is right, It's not the quanity, it's the quality. Just because someone has 5 cars doesn't mean they are any less of an enthusiast than the guy with 100 cars.

For me, I have almost all I want. In fact I am trying to pare down my collection. Now I want to focus on making the ones I have the best they can be.

Same for me Jim! You want to make your cars even better than they are? Hard task![8D]

For me it is the memories...I remember how much fun it was getting to build a new tamiya r/c kit when I was younger...I still get that same feeling when I am building my Wild willy 2 or my Stadium blitzer....I am lucky to have a big area for my cars...others are lucky to have many, many NIB kits...but you know what, everyone is right...it is not the ammount of space or the number of cars you have....It is the comrodery that we all share for Tamiya and collecting R/C cars....Every single collection is one of a kind because they are all different...I'm just glad there is a place like this I can share my hobby with others, because people in my area are like nice little cars, ok whatever who cares....I like to see all of the new cars posted every day on this site...I also like the action shots and the pictures of peoples hobby areas....I just wish there were someone in my area to collect and trade with...but at least there is this site....Thanks Chris...and to all the others I have coresponded with...this is what it is all about...Just my 2 cents....[:)]
