I have just got a Super Clodbuster to regress to the days when I was a kid.

This time however I want to upgrade it, at some point I might get a new chassis or components but want to get an electronic speed controller. I have ordered a Novak ESC EVX from the E-Maxx to run it. Is this suitable for the stock motors in the clod (presume they are 540s) or will I have to upgrade them to 550s (e.g. the Titan ones (Do they fit?) for the E-Maxx or the Tamiya versions at(http://www.modelbuild.co.uk/desription/7435076.html which are cheaper).

What motors were in the original model as I had a 12 Volt lawn mower battery that I ran through it (manual speed control) and seemed fine, **** quick but fine.

Also what is the best way of mounting 2 batteries in a standard clod.

Any advice would be welcome.

It might be as well to run in stock till you plan to upgrade it.

I dont know for sure but I dont think there is an easy way to mount two batteries in a SC and seeing as the EVX is a 14.4v speedo you may not be able to run it with just one battery.

Also running the stock 540s with 14.4v would be a bit insane, whilst it would probably shift some it would also be somewhat unstable I would have though.

Dont know about the 550s,the only thing that might be an issue is the motor shafts themselves might be a bit long and may need cutting down a bit to fit in the clod boxes.

Clods are usually given over to power (torque) rather than (too much) speed.

You could mount a set of integy matrix lathe motors if i remember correctly they will handle 12 volts wich would be better than feeding 14.4 to a set of stocker's. And as far as batteries go, the evx will not work unless you have both hooked up. Also doesnt the super clod utilize the same chassis as the orig.? (never paid too much attention to it) If so you can get a set of packs off of ebay specifically made for the clod . Rather than being stick packs they are more like a brick and one will fit in the front and the other in the rear of the chassis. I had a set of these using D-cells and they seemed to work pretty well(took an extremely long time to charge though!) Hope to have been some help[:I]
