Ok ... I`m new here, have a few Tamiya cars and others.

I wondered how long it would take one of you RC guru`s to identify this little piece of monster truck history ... I acquired this and was unable to identify it after weeks of searching on the internet. In the end I also found I had the instructions for it buried in a box of junk so now I know what it is ... but do any of you???

100 extra cool points to the first poster to name it :D

I`m going to clean it up and see if I can get it going, then this one may well go up for sale as I don`t feel passionate enough about monster trucks to deserve to own something as rare as this (and my brat and lancia are taking up enough of my time right now!)

nice to meet you all!

It`s not Tamiya, Kyosho, or any well known make. I get three matches when I search for it on tamiyaclub, so somebody here had one recently! It is made by a company that were in Denver Colorado, and it dates back to the time of the first electric monster trucks (according to the interweb). God knows how it ended up in a carboot sale in Surrey England; maybe they were imported but I`d never heard of this manufacturer and I was seriously into RC cars and racing 15 or 20 years ago and read all the mags.

This is the original body, I`ll try and get a body off shot later. I`m really keen to clean this up and see how well it runs after so many years gathering dust :D

What does MRP stand for? If it was made by them, they weren`t trading under that name back then!

It`s not a HighRoller :D

I really thought somebody would get this within a few minutes ... I don`t feel so bad now that I couldn`t figure it out myself for so long!

Hey, I'm not sure what MRP stood for but they did make the Highroller. Here are my other guesses:

a. Varicom Big Grizzly

b. Royal Crusher (Marui or something-made the royal ripper too I think)

The Royal Ripper was made by Thunder Tiger, and also sold as Thunder Tigers' "The Tiger". I think they were made in Taiwan under licence to a uS company (like Traxxas products). Maybe this is another Thunder tiger product?
