Not sure if i'm in the right sub-forum, but here goes anyway.

I'm the proud owner of a 'King Blackfoot' (thank's to tamiyaclub member Stefan) with a 21t motor and a Conrad ESC (Cheapest one i could find) now it would seem i have a problem with the ESC. (shows me for buying cheap parts haha)

The blasted thing doesn't want to go in reverse anymore, or in short, my Blacky doens't want to go backwards anymore..grrr.

Now it has 2 lights on it and one lights up green when going forward, but it turns red when i try to go in reverse (backwards that is)

Does anyone know what i'm talking about here, or does anyone have any experience with ET-M40S SPEEDO 15A CARISMA ESC's?

Kind Regards,

Ordo (No full member yet, cause i'm not sure why i'd have to pay 15 pounds to register, since i have my own webspace to host pictures and movies)

Is the ESC capable of reverse?

Is there any website for it?

Either it is reverse only,it is set up incorrectly,or it has had the reverse disabled.

As for the subscription the biggest bonus is the 10% discount through the club shop,Fusion Hobbies and Modelsport, doesn't sound a lot but it soon adds up.

Have you tried resetting it and the reconfiguring it? Also, try reversing your motor wires, just to make sure it isn't something in the gearbox...

As for the registration fee - you also get to use the trading room...

Cheers you all for replying so far.

Yeah i tried to rewire motor to esc wires and no it doesn't run forward then either.

ow yeah it was a reverse esc it had a brake and all, and after resetting it it didn't make any difference as well, ah well i might just send it back to Conrad then, since it still falls under warranty.

As for the subscription, it still doesn't make me want to pay 15 pounds for now since everything i order goes through a Dutch shop near when i live .

i too have got this problem when i built my tt01 chassis, since purchasing a new buggy i stripped the tt01 for parts lol and it works fine in my other any ideas?

Not sure about the ESC problem, but you could contribute the £15 a year in subscription to say "thanks" to Chris for setting up such a great resource.....

Sure its technically "free", but if everyone looked at things this way, sites like this wouldn't exist [;)]. Its good for your karma to put a bit back in now and then [:)]

Hope you find out how to setup your ESC.

Cheers,

Chris

As far as I heard from our dutch members, dutch shops are more on the expensive side, the amount I have saved from deals from TC and wordwide shops listed here is more then 10 times higher per year then the subscription fee, but of course its your decision.

Being Dutch, I can certainly confirm this. I buy most things from abroad, except paint cans as I want the immediately. The main reasons are cost savings, and also beign able to get products that are unavaliable or very hard to get here in Holland. [:)]

Our importer does seem to provide proper service, but the prices are often a lot higher than in, for example, Germany. Now that the we Dutch and the German share currency, it becomes easier visible we are being ripped off, one of few advantages of the Euro so far. [:P]

My comment about the membership fee wasn't meant to critise (is that spelled correctly?) and i understand a bit better what the advantages are, but i'm not (yet) a avarage parts or kit buyer, so it wouldn't be necessary for me at the moment, since i'm able to post on this messageboard with possible questions and such (if you all don't mind that is)

Anyway for resetting my ESC, it just doesn't work, and im dreading sending it back cause it might take a while to get back.

Anyone here then know a decent yet not too pricey esc?

Cheers!

If you are looking for a cheap range of ESC's you will be hard pushed to beat the Mtroniks ones on price:

http://www.mtroniks.co.uk

I know some on here don't rate them but as a budget ESC with the bonus of being completely waterproof I have never had any problems, and have bought many of them (different models) over the last 2 years. The main thing to remember is to make sure the motor you are running is within the design capabilities of the ESC.

One other one I was keen to try was this Nosram one:

Its very cheap for a 16 turn capable reversible ESC from a decent manufacturer.

I have to say, even only being an occasional buyer, I'd be surprised if you didn't save the 15GBP in discounts over a year with TC membership. I would have thought ordering from the likes of Jason's Store on ebay, or some of the uK distributers on TC would have worked out cheaper - even including shipping?

Keep an eye out for ESCs coming up for sale on the forum here too. I recently picked up a brand new MTroniks 15 turn ESC for about half the price it usually retails for new, and thats including the shipping from the uSA [xx(]

Cheers,

Chris
