Hey folks, anyone tried those new RC4wd one piece aluminum Clod to T-Maxx wheel adapters that he has on ebay right now, they are priced at 33.99. They look alright but I was hoping for the input of someone who has used em. I have a special G-Made Dragoon in the works.......anyone recommend another adapter?

They work great, they will also widen the truck a great deal...

The only problem with them is that they use a special nut on them and if you loose that nut you have to special order it from the makers...If I remember correctly they cost uS$ 5 each...

Hey Chris

Go careful with Clod/Maxx adaptors, they look wide, but they just accomodate the offset difference between the 2 designs of wheels

I got TTR wideners, and whilst around 3/4'' wide, still only push the inner bead of a Maxx wheel out to where a clod one would be

GOT ANY PICS ??

Hey fellas thanks for the response. Andy, here are my rims (link to closed auction won by me i hope that is okay admin):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

So, I need an adapter to fit them, even more since I have just polished them ! Was looking at this adapter from New Era, saw it on rc4wd auction:

So, I need some advice and recommendations. I am in no hurry though I won't be ordering my GMade Dragoon (you talked me into it Andy) till later this week and am still on the hunt for some Clod Gearboxes at a good price. Can anyone tell me how the "reverse" motor idea works in the clod - for example could I just drop two Sport tuned in there or no ?

If you haven't got adaptors yet, hold off, although the Maximisers are offset, I dunno how they'd fit a Gmade.

The New Era adaptors don't look as though they add much at all, whereas the TTR ones do.

I got 6 of them here, which you're welcome to have a play with.

The TTR adaptor looks kinda like;

Those rims will only take STOCK Maxx tires, don't get Imex Jumbo or Proline 40 series tires, the carcasses are way too wide for the rims (see my maxx)[;)]

You getting a Dragoon, or a Spider?

As for reversing motors, do a search, I gave up trying to work it out ages ago, I use either Kyosho Mayhems (getting rare) or stock 540's

It's all to do with the timing, and other stuff I don't even try to understand no more [;)]

Cheap Clod gearboxes??

Dunno what you're looking to spend, but;

andy,

I'm going for the Dragoon (just waiting for a paypal transfer to make the purchase), I know you can vouch for the Spider but I like that Dragoon for some reason. Once I get the chassis and some gearboxes I'll have a go at the adapters and I was thinking of some Imex Swamp Dawgs (regular T-maxx size or J-hawgs might not be best for crawling but I love the way they look - plus I'll be bashing a bit too i hope) for those rims. I just might take yo uup on the offer for the "adapter trial". anyone else or has the "king" answered me ? lol

No worries on either chassis fella, I'd own both if I could afford it [8D]

One word of warning though - don't put the balls into the ball ends until you got them srewed into their respective arms, they're a real pain to get back out again when you realise they're all in on the wrong sides [:I]

And get yourself a G clamp or ratchet clamp for putting the balls in, they make a right mess of the dining room table!

And yeah, J hawgs do look nice [8D]

Anyway, wheel adaptors;

INETid="size2"> (discontinued)

Add about 5mm, each side, to width.

Probably use existing wheel nuts ok (as no alternatives were supplied)

adaptmaxx1.jpg

Thundertechid="size2">

Add about 1/2'' (each side) to width.

Use, and include, special fixing hardware as pictured

Ah ha! I see the light now. Those Thundertech ones look like they will be the ones to go with. One question, do you have one of every single Clod aftermarket part in your hands or what Andy !? thanks,

chris
