As you may know I just got an XC Pajero. Tons of fun! So I start tinkering with the rear suspension for the quest for more articulation. The only things added from the parts bin are a couple of ~5cm arms with ball ends and old, but working, truck shocks. I attach the arms to the existing rear shock mount (removing ball and using nut and bolt); attach the other end to the top of the shock; then finally attaching the bottom of shock to diff. Voila, super articulation! Works great.[:P] Its my 10 minute prototype, so I'll be refining it. Here are some pics...

I did this with the stock oil shocks that cam with the touareg.

Left them exactly how they hook up to the rear and i unscrewed the brass ball where the shocks hooked up to the chassis.

Now i used a RPM long ball cup drilled a 1/8 hole at the far end where it starts threding in the ball cup and also drilled a hole in the ball cup end and sanded 3/4 of the ball cup off to make it thinner and then i put the stock brass ball into it and then snapped the shock top back on.. Now i used a fine threaded screw and screwed the oposit side of the RPM ball cup where i drilled the 1/8th Inch hole in it back in the stock shock holder on the chassis.

And now i can put 3 and about a half 7.2 battery packs under the rear tire while all 4 are down... A Nifty mod for the cost of RPM ball cup connectors!!
