Ok ok... just a wishlist question here.

If one could build the ultimate ISTC racing machine, USING ONLY CURRENT TAMIYA PARTS (other than RC & ESC), what would it be?

Which car?

Which Tamiya motor?

Which bodyshell?

ISTC stands for International Scale Touring Car. Surely the ultimate racing machine is either the TRF414M11 that Surikarn Chaidajsuriya used to win the world championship, or the newer TB Evolution111 Sukarin edition that he now runs. Choice of Tamiya bodies will be the trickiest as ISTC rules state that the body must be a 4 door touring car replica.

I was translating the Japanese Tamiya webpage in Altavista and Surikarn came out as "pickpocket", so know we know how he finances his racing.... [:P][:D]LOLOL

I think it would be the Surikarn Evo3, with the Ferrari Modena shell (it is a two door, so technically it isn't ISTC legal, but who cares), 11 turn Tamiya racing motor and the tyres that were supplied in the TRF414M kit (but I forgot their name).

If you run a Protoform Stratus shell however, you will find you have much more downforce than with the Modena shell.

Is the Tamiya 11t the hottest red-n-blue-stars motor today?

Hmm... Stratus *might* be "Tamiya", considering the 414M-WCR comes with it right?? [:I]

Surikarn EvoIII has Sorex 36Rs, but the std EvoIII, TA04PRO & 04R and the 414s all come with 24mm Medium-Narrow Type As I think.

could we call it the Protform/available in a Tamiya kit Stratus maybe?

Although I actually really like the lightweight Altezza.

Blue wheels too, I hear they are limited edition !
