I think I have seen somthing simular been done before. It's about ordering from Bauteil again... Marty could translate my order to German for me, but he don't live in Germany so I thougt I would try this: You see, Bauteil don't take PayPal, and me+ others in here think it's a litle scary with European Bank transfers. I am not shure if it can be done, but I was thinking that maybe we could PayPal a trusted TC'er in Germany witch then buy the parts and make Bauteil shipp them out. Offcourse we will pay all the extra cost of PayPal and bank transfer etc.

At this moment I know that me and OCD are after some parts they gott, specially their steering link kit seems to be a most wanted part!

So if you are German, live in Germany, gott PayPal and a Bankaccount. You could really help us making our Xc's be much better!

I was also thinking that maybe there is more people in here that want parts from Bauteil. So just maybe we could arrange for order together?

At the moment this are just toughts of mine, and may be more problematic than I can imagine? I have had toughts about it for some time nowe. So im just thinking that it woulden't harm to ask[:D]

Danke

Hi Anders/Supergreg,

I think it is a good way to do business with Roger via a German member. I personally have nothing against a IBAN/BIC transfer, only you take a risk (but we also do take risks with paypal). Last time I did my business with Bauteil1 I had to sent the money in a registered letter and it worked fine. He is definetly a descent guy, I only understands it makes big difference if he has the stuff on the shelf (delivery will be quick) or if he has to make it first (delivery will be less fast).

I can recommend him, his stuff is awsome,

Greetings Max

Hello Max,

IBAN has no real risks (would think even less then Paypal) and no additional costs in EU (unlike Paypal) but for non-EU members its better we help, I, like Supergreg can also offer my help if someone needs it. [:D]

That's right DJTheo, only thing with IBAN/BIC is that money sent cannot be returned, like you could do with a credit card payment. But for pure transfering money I completely agree it is the most save way to go (and cheapest!)

Thank you all for your offering of help-

I have no problem with international dealings,

but in this case I leave it to those who

speak German. I'm not trying to put

the effort and responsibility on someone

else here, I just don't have the time to

play with translators and limping German

websites. If anyone is ordering just let

me know when and I can give you my shopping

list. As you well know, The dollar doesn't

do so well against the Euro (or most currency

for that matter) so it will probably be a

small list anyhow. [:I]

As for the trust issue:

I've been lurking around here for two years now,

so I think I know who to trust... [;)]

Just to throw in my two eurocents..

IF you're making transfers through either your bank / internet bank using IBAN / BIC / SWIFT codes, it is indeed safer than through Paypal. If you contact the receiving end of the bank beforehand, you can get the name / address of the receiver through said codes - and thus make sure that the intentioned parties are actully on the other end...

Of course, the receiving bank won't just GIVE you the name and address, but they will verify them...

I agree, sending money through the banking system has to be more secure, after all this how international business is carried out every day[;)]

I found dealing with my bank no problem but i did have to go into the branch, oh and of course they charged me[:(!]

In my case sending the money was no problem--- receiving the goods

Ohh man.. That seriously sucks.. At least you're able to find the one who received the money.. Might I suggest an aluminium baseball bat and a motorcycle chain ?..

Cheers,

SO why is Mr . Roger Fratzscher / Bautei1 conspicuously absent from these forums? Is it a language barrier, or is just hiding from Spikey?

Doesn't matter to me if he speaks German, I just can't understand why so many have trouble dealing with him. Seems like he's capable of making some nice alloy bits- but can't distribute them? Whatever. Maybe I should buy a drill press and a scroll saw?
