I know how to do it and why but when you do it does it cause problems?

I can see the truck being more difficult to turn and it dragging its rear end when you do.

Has anyone done this, how did it run afterwards?

Well, I can tell you one thing that you should not do. I locked both front & rear diffs in my txt-1 to build a crawler. Then I changed my mind and put in the HV Maxx Brushless. I forgot I locked the diffs with JB Weld. Well, long story short - the small ball on the end of each driveshaft snapped off [xx(]. So, be careful what motors you run with locked diffs [;)].

If you use 2ws locking the rear will not handicap you much. It will scrub a little om pavement. If you have 4ws you will notice it much harder for the rear to steer, especially when going slow. It will have more torque twist as well.

On the good side it will have noticably more traction.[:)]
