Stripping paint from chromed parts.....

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere....

Anyone got any comment / tips on the above - I'm worried about trying the oven cleaner / brake fluid method as it might strip the chrome too - will this happen? If so, is there any other technique which could be used?

Brake fluid does strip off chrome. Thats all i know. [8)]

I havent heared yet of a paint stripping fluid that doesnt harm chrome... [8)]

I can also concur that brake fluid strips chrome parts []

Nail varnish remover and methylated spirits also remove the chrome. - The only option I've found is to strip the parts and then re-chrome them!
