I would like to know about the history/general information/facts about the Melbourne hobby store-Hobbyplace.What do you know about this store?I hope Willychang can help me out on this one!!!!

i used to go there all the time, its on lounsdale st in the city.

I dont like those guys, they're prices are too expensive compared to other hobby stores. I now go to the the big one in hoppers crossing, its called Melbourne Track and hobby.

I think Ron (the owner)is just a little misunderstood - he is actually a reasonable bloke if you take the time to get to know him.

Hobby place has been around for many many years.

HP opened in about 1978-79. Originally they specialised in

model trains, but gradually did RC and a lot more static

models today. At one stage think they did have the shop

across the road too, back around in the 1980s or so.

I remember the place during the 80s. Dad got most of the Sand Scorcher parts from there. I deal with Metro Hobbies mainly these days, since they are closer to me.
