I've had it for a couple of months now. I used it at Snetterton and made full use of the 10 car memory (9 cars). Superb piece of kit. Just make sure you set up all your cars first, as that is the time consuming part. It seems fairly easy on batteries. Tested on 23000mah, and got 4 - 41/2 hours solid. I purchased lots of recievers seperately and used the 1 transmitter. Easier than swapping everytime. Has all the functions needed. Rates, EPA, ABS, although my ESCs have that so have not used on Transmitter. 3 Digit name only tho'.

I like mine - it's got the convienience of 10 model settings, and EPA, trim and other useful stuff, but it's far simpler than some of the other computerised transmitters that I've seen. It's also got a nice feel on the steering wheel and is well balanced.

All of that at a price not much more than a standard tranny. Recommended.

seconded on that one - very good piece of kit, even i can drive with it[8)][xx(][:I] and i like the 10 model memory as well saves setting up each one [:P]

Just got one for myself too! [^] I found it reasonably priced for the functions it provides and it will probably become the most popular entry-level pistol controller very soon...

Never been a fan of pistol grip transmitters, do Futaba offer the same spec in a standard stick transmitter[?]

Good to hear you all seem to like it because I ordered one and should be getting it by the end of this week (Hopefully!).

Kendalboatsman - Check out www.towerhobbies.com -> they have a nice list of Futaba radios there. Maybe there is one with the same features.

Have any of the UK members bought their 2PL from Tower Hobbies[?]

What frequency did they send, according to their website the one they offer is the 75mhz which is notid="red"> legal in the UK[V]

Is the 2PL available over here in the UK and how much?

Thanks

Hey Clive

The 2pl is available here, Apex and Three5 do it for £70

You can also get it from Dinball (Hong Kong) for $74, but only in 27mhz

Seems all are in 27mHz here in Hong Kong...

May I ask those of you using this controller, do you change the crystals for each car or you just buy a number of receiver crystal in the same frequency, which is a better way? I can't decide for the moment and would like to know what you are doing with it...Thanks.

I have a full set of solid crystals on 27mhz and have a receiver in each of my cars with a crystal in. All I do is change the TX crystal to match the car

Thanks Tipsy. But is it possible to have the same Tx/Rx for every car so that I don't even have to bother changing the Tx crystal, assuming only 1 out of the 10 cars will be played at only 1 time? Any pros and cons for one way or the other? Thanks.

Hi Onetenth,

Yes you could do that. If you use self adhesive velcro on the receiver you could just unplug the receiver, and stick it into the next car.

However there are a few problems with this. Different cars use different servo settings so you would need to alter your servo reverse switches if you use the same transmitter. You could get around this by using the multi memory 2PL transmitter. and just swap the receiver between cars.

Biggest issue for me would be damage to servo wires and plugs caused by repeatedly unplugging them.

I have two TA03Fs, one is the standard length and the other is a short wheelbase car. I intend to use the same ESC and receiver in both cars for racing. Chances are I will mainly use the TA03F not the F-S so the amount of swaps would be minimal for me.

I use three transmitters across 8 cars and all the cars have complete radio gear in. Except the two TA03 cars of course.
