Hey guys i have just ordered a TB01 chassis and just want to know if you have to have the antenna sticking out of the shell! Can i simply leave it inside or do i have to buy a peice of kit to do that??

Cheers

What I have done in the past is run the antenna wire around the car under the shell. I usually go from a body post to the next etc so as to make a large square (ish) loop. this will reduce your range, but it looks alot more scale than having a flourescent yellow tree sticking out of the roof.

I have seen people using a clear strip of plastic 25mm (1") x 125mm (6") and attached to the chasis with the antenna wire wrapped around the plastic strip. (you may have to play around the size of the strip to fit inside the body.) It seems to work but can't say if if will greatly effect the range of operation.

It all boils down to range.

Range meaning how far away the car can get without bugging out.[xx(]

If you drive close you can get away with alot, meaning have the antenna tucked in the body.

Some rules of thumb.[:)]

Try not to have the antenna touch itself.

stay away from tight turns, do not coil, especially the end.

Keep away from metal and electronics.

Make sure you have capacitors on motor, 3 of them.

Feel free to use vinyl tape, it blocks no signal.

Do not cut antenna wire.

Hope this helps, happy motoring.[:P]
