Got a call from my wife yesterday while I was out and about, to say a very large Crow had flown into the house. There wasn't really much I could do about it at the time as I was quite a way from home so just gave her some 'handy tips' for getting it out.

I got home several hours later to find the wife quite pleased with herself, as she had managed to corner it and get it locked in a room, ready for me to get it out when I got back.

Which room did she corner it in? Yep, you guessed my office/workshop/showroom!!![xx(] The room with the most expensive contents in the the house - the best cars from my collection, all my computer gear, all my video gear and all my work for clients. For three hours the bird had been going mad in there trying to get out. It had up turned every one of my project boxes, all my carefully sorted screw pots and then 'relieved itself' all over the place.

The scene was so bad it looked like we had been ransacked by malicious burglers just intent on trashing the place.

After the bird had gone and I started sorting it all out not too much turned out to be damaged, but I am going to be sorting out the thousands of screws on the floor for weeks. In a perverse sort of way I'm quite enjoying sorting everything out again - it was getting out of hand any way. I'll probably be sticking lots of things up for sale this weekend as I rediscover them. So there may be a silver lining after all.

The moral of the story? If you are not in your showroom/workshop and there is a bird in the house - make sure she knows not to let wild animals in.

After this story dont expect high prices mate as people will be afraid of "white/brown lining" on the parts [:P][:D]

Would like to see you in the room hunting the bird and at the same time jumping to catch nice Tamiya stuff falling, those scenes are pretty funny, I remember myself younger returning home and finding a bat flying inside and me very fast under the table... ROFL [:P][:D]

Wow, thats nutty,

i know how your wife and you feel,

when i was 8 a crow (rather large one) flew into my open window,

long story short my neighbor had to come over , open every window, and harrass it constantly with a broom until it flew out,

and as you put it, the bird "relieved" itself all over my room.

A particularly large bird. You happened to be far from home. It just happened to get locked in your den. The missus was looking pleased with herself.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but that sounds like a setup to me...
