Hey guys,

I know this has probably been covered many a time but what is all the 23x1, 23x2 and 23x3 all about?? Any help would be very much appreciated!

23 = the number of turns of wire around each armature pole.

more = more torque/less revs/less heat/more runtime

less = more revs/less torque/more heat/less runtime

X 3 = 3 strands of wire wound however many times round each armature pole.

more = more revs etc

as per above

less = more torque etc

so a 23X1 is much more torquey and less revvy than a 23X4 for example

a 13X3 is very revvy indeed.

for a light reardrive circuit racer 13X3 is ok ish

for a heavy off roader 23X1 would be better.

Try a 27X1. turn 24degree rebuildable stock motor first, they are much faster thn the kit motor.

They cost about £27 UK

£1 per turn............ spooky !

Sorry to jump in on your post siv! So what is the standard 540 motor then, as turn x winds i mean?

With a monster truck, an old MB, i have been told something like a 27x2 would be good, does anyone have comments?

I got a 17X2 orion in my TB01 and I get 15 mins of run time.

It gets a bit hot though.

So if I put a 27X1 in it will it be a lot slower?

I race against others who have 27X1 in there cars and they seem to be

as quick as mine!

Yes 27 Stock motors are as quick as 17 turn mods or standards. very strange to understand i know. but 19 turn spec modifieds like the Chameleon are quicker easilly than a 17 turn mod or a 27 turn stock. Try a Green Macghine 3 for outright RPm and speed it will fly. Try a P2k for torque and a P2K 2 for a mixture of both.

Thanks
