I just recieved a fully waterproof esc, and am up for getiing the bush devil into deep puddles, but the will i need to water proof the reciever and i guess the motor aswell, and the steering servo. Any other bits, and what is the best way of doing it?

You can use kids party baloons to water proof electrical stuff pretty well.

For my Pajero I used a clear plastic box that an ESC came in to fit the esc and reciever. It is 100% water proof at depths upto about 2 feet. I havent had it any deeper!

You really need to seal the gearbox up too, I would guess at using Tamiya's blue sealed bearings everywhere you can.

I strip the Pajero after every submersion so I just use plain old ball bearings.

To protect the motor you could use the baloon method but you must remember the baloon will melt everywhere when the motor heats up.

MRT in England can waterproof receivers for about £10, can't say I've ever bothered about the motor, just use a cheapy and clean/ relube it after every run.

MRT are the manufacturers of one of the first fully waterproof ESC's. They are on the South coast, I'll dig out my manual and post up the address for you when I get home!

i din't bother water proofing my motors and they are still fine after being submerged in mud, water and possibly cow pat. (i went into a field with cows!!!!!!!!!)[;)]
