Any websites which offers reviews n specs of chargers??

You could try the archived reviews from some of the r/c magazines - I don't have URL's but a google search should show some up. Otherwise to compare the specs, try some of the larger on-line shops like Tower (US) or ModelSport or Apex (UK). HTH. David

Try www.rccaraction.com - there's at least one review on that site. Can't help with any others I'm afraid [:I]

Checkout my topic on the GWS charger in this forum.....

I've found it to be very good, and fairly cheap. NmH and NCd.

(no i don't work for them...)

i am brand new to this hobby... got into it by default..lol a friend of mine was cleaning out his attic and had an old fox and a thunder dragon plus parts controllers and charger. he was gonna throw them away! i thought...hmmm... could be fun. now its almost aggrevating! parts are hard to find, too many things are in bad shape! so i looked on ebay, ended up buying another complete fox, parts and junk for less than 50 bucks... now i got a real mess going! anyways.. i got a complete car now...lol and i charged a battery, put it in the car to see if it moved. it did, but very little. i figured the battery needs more time! ok, here is my problem... the charger i have is a model craft mfg. pro tech super charger ac/dc 701 serial #71018508 it has the 15 minute timer dial on the lower right, the discharge/ charge switch, trickle light fuse area dc 12v inputs a booster on off switch and a current adjuster dial... problem with it is that the needle display area is damaged... the glass is gone and the needle is just there... dont know if it is bent or what? so anyways, the battery that i have is a tamiya ni-cd 7.2v 1200mah battery! its not the long stick one, its shorter and has one battery mounted underside so that it fits into a preformed area.... anyways, it says standard charging time is 14 to 16 hours... ummm...this seems rediculous! anyway, am i screwed with this charger being messed up, if not, how do i set it up and how long do i really charge this battery for? i just want to run the car and have some fun... i know how to re-twist motors too... is this safe to do? please help a beginner!

You can pick up batteries/chargers for not alot on eBay. I recently got a slow charger for 3 quid, a fast charger for 10 quid and batteries (with much more capacity that 1200) you can get for a tenner...

Hi rcwannabe,

The tamiya 7.2 "hump pack" that you have could well be past it now, but I'd recommend trying to trickle charge it with your charger first to make sure. This will probably be just a case of pugging the battery into the charger, and seeing if the trickle light comes on. Don't press the charge button, as it will prbably trigger the fast charge (30 mins) which you don't want to use until your battery's have been slow charged. The trickle charge will take 12-14 hours, but if there is any life left in the battery, it should start to perk up, Incidentally, when you get it going, the fox is a pretty nice car, and will definately be worth the effort getting it going. Good Luck.
