Maxed Out loves em;

Having looked at the 'release' pics, some of it looks cool - 1 piece suspension arms (if they are) look to be a step in the right direction, I could never quite undestand why the TB01 ones were two half-pieces screwed together to form one piece[xx(]

Another sweet option;

(Just hope this one arrives in one piece!)

Great, another 'lightly battered' raybrig - all I need.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for me on this one[;)]

Still, I got a couple of bodies coming for this one - Don't tell Miramar, but they're Carsons[8D]

I saw that! [:(!] [;)]

(By the way, I have to admit I couldn't resist the Quattro S1 myself, and having been on the engine development team for the real Opel Speedster / Vauxhall VX220, I had an excuse for buying the Carson body of that one. And then I just HAD to have their MB 300SLR body and the (Tamiya-COPY![:(!][:(!]) Hummer lexan body, the NSU TTS and the a few of the Stratos and.....and....)

Still, I HATE Carson! [:I][:P][:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)] contd.

Cool[:P]

I got a Zakspeed Capri and a ....... on the way.

Anyone got decals for the Zakspeed? And why don't they come with the shell[:(!]

I had a Stratos a while back, but sold it with my TB01, that was a pretty shell!

Miramar, seeing as you're around, do you know of a Carson site that shows all their bodies? I used to hacve a link within tamiya.de, but it's no longer valid.

Oh yes, I have the Capri too (a friend of my father's cousin once borrowed a Capri from his boss, a valid excuse for me to get the Carson Capri, I think)[:P].

Carson sells (or sold) decals for the Zakspeed, and I can look up the item # for you.

As for the Stratos, it's one of my favourite real cars, and that Alitalia livery is fantastic, so I bought a few. However, the wheelbase is way too long with 257mm (true 1/10 would be 220mm), and the rally version of the real Stratos was much wider in the rear than the front so the proportions are really quite bad. I'm still looking for the 1/10 hard plastic body (early Tamiya style) Stratos body from Nichimo, but no luck so far.

As for Carson bodies on the web, as you point out, they were all shown on the old tamiya.de site, but not on the new Carson site. I have all Carson catalogs however, so if just my scanner would work with Win XP, I could play the devil's advocate and supply the pics in this thread. I must be schizophrenic! At least you'll never be lonely[;)]

I have the Zak decals on order thru a store, thru the importers, but it's taking a while!

If your scanner does kick in, I'd love a copy, if I remember, they do a sweet BMW old 3 Series too.

The stratos is a cool car, my first Tamiya ever was a 1/24 motorized one!

Yes, they have a racing version of the first BMW 3-series. Not among their best, but a nice choice for a "nostalgic" body. Now, a Porsche 550, older 911's or maybe a 935 would be nice.... [|)]

Hi,

the new Carson site is:

http://www.carson-modelsport.com/

Seems to be in german language only, the french or english buttons in the bottom of the screen seem not to work. Dann müssen Wir Deutsch lernen..[8)]

BTW, what is the difference with Carson waterproof ESCs and Mtronics ESCs, except the price? To me they look very same (made by Mtronics?) but Carson branded ones are much cheaper.

best regards,

Juha
