Today I went to a hobby store in Germany.

I saw a Tamiya Kit with an old Audi Quattro rally car (80s modell).

Does anybody now this kit?

Yes, it's the Audi Quattro S1 "Pikes-Peak". A Carson body on a Tamiya TL01 chassis (not an official Tamiya model). I think I've seen pics of a gasversion on a Carson-chassis as well.

Body is sold separately too, by the way.

I think my posting was to fast.

Now I looked on http://www.rc-tamiya.de/tamiya/include.php...a2503e850344825

and found this.

Kit# 58447 Audi Quattro S1

It says something about "CARSON-Exclusive Line-Set" with Tamiya TL 01 chassis.

You are right [;)]

I was just confused when I saw the package this afternoon. It looked different but as Tamiya changes the design of its boxes from time to time I thought it was a "real" Tamiya car.

I didn't really look at it but when I arrived home I started wondering about what I saw.... [B)]

I've seen it with a BIN of 159 Euro on German eBay. Being "just" a TL01 with a Carson body, I believe we will see it on German eBay for about 110-130 Euro soon, just like most other TL01's.

That looks great. If it fits a TL01 it will fit a TB01 won't it? I can see a new rally car project on its way! If you are in the UK where can you order that body?

Yes, it will and I intend to use it on a TB01 myself.

I was thinking of getting such thing for my TB-01 too. Really! [:o] Great minds think alike bla bla probably... [;)]

But considering the Carson stuff isn't that high quality as the Tamiya stuff and that Carson isn't VERY cheap around here with the body sets (due to ****ty LHS me thinks BTW); I might leave it... Also, I HAVE a body for my TB, not too sharp maybe, but it's a (cheap [:P] ) runner after all...

I have done a Carson Peugeot 206 body for my friend. The decals supplied didn't even fit the body properly. For example the front grill, the decal was supposed to be 1 cm 'higher' and 3-5mm 'narrower' to fit! Also the windscreen border was cut up to fit, well, sort of. This Carson body will too be certainly nothing even near Tamiya quality we are used to, let alone the tremendous detail we are all such great fans of. These should be OK for a runnner body, they didn't feel weak or flimsy. [:)]

Next time when I pass around at this HS I'll ask the owner if I am allowed to take some pics. Would that be of any interest for you guys?

Anyway I have to stop at that shop next week to buy some parts for my Super Blackfoot.

I just ordered it from my LHS, anyone who deals with Helger racing, distributors of Losi, Carson, Trinity and LRP among others should be able to get it.

Can anyone tell me if there is a US distributor of Carson bodies here in the USA?? I too am interested in something different for my boring TL-01.

Cheers,
