hi guys

i have a tamiya f201 and have tryed my hardest to load the formula 1 site but to no avail it wont load and is slower than a 56k even though i am 1mb connection and cant find answers to what i need to know so i thought you guys could help me out with fixing it maybe [:I]

ok the front arms have this plate across the bottom of them (MF6 front stabilizer) mine is broken on the right hand arm side [:I]. is this part reqiured or can i run without it. having never owned a f1 im compleatly new to tham but am fasinated by the way its set out.

i brought it second hand and it has a 13turn raptor motor in. would i be safe running this motor in the f201 if not could you point me in a nice motor that i can start to race with.

i also have a final drive of 2.75 - 1 with a 20t pinion and a 55t spur but there is a third gear that is 17t and the bevel and diff gear too so i dont know what would be the best motor for using and dont know my final drive including these other parts [:I. could someone be so kind as to explain why there is this 17t to 17t gear before the rear gearbox/diff ( page 5 in manual & page 13 part number MD7 )

sorry i forgot can i race other 1/10th touring car with my f1 at clubs also

thank you

The stabilizer plate is not needed if running outdoors. If you use the car on indoor carpet tracks it helps to reduce oversteer.

Never ever run anything more than a 19T in this car unless you enjoy replacing the melted chassis. The motor has EXTREMELY poor cooling and even a 19T has a tendency to leave a nasty plastic burn smell after a 5 min race. If you stick to Tamiya gears there are two possible combinations you can use. The one in the manual and the high speed gear set (sorry forget the exact sizes, but I believe the 20t pinion and 55t spur is the high speed set). Either one is fine as long as you don't go below a 19T motor. You MAY be able to get away with something upto 15T if you use the stock gearing. The two 17t gears are there to basically lower the drive shaft that goes into the rear gearbox.

As for racing with 1/10th cars. That would be upto your club. You might be a bit slower on the straight but would have better cornering. So depending on the layout it could be better or worse.

hmmmmm i shall need to find a team brood 19t motor for this car [:D]

are there any adjustable motor mount for the f201 i have notice while taking the 13 turn rapor out that it is a pre determined size eg: will only take a 20 tooth pinion [:(]
