I'v read in various mags that term & letting them settle over night.

Can I have that in english please?

I have an "Ansmann ACX1 Desktp charger" of which is peak charger.

Can any of you help me?

They probably mean either discharging or equalising the packs.

Your charger probably doesn't discharge and definitely won't equalise.

Discharging is a useful part of battery care and is useful for every pack. It will stop them generating a memory and losing performance over time. You can get quite reasonably priced stand alone dischargers, I would go for one with a cutoff around 5.4v for a 7.2v pack. Avoid the 0v cutoff.

Equalising requires a tray and is only suitable for side-by-side or saddle pack batteries. It is more likely to be done by racers as it can even the cells out again for better performance. Again, I would recommend a tray with a 0.9v per cell cutoff. Some cells respond badly to a 0v cutoff.
