Have recently bought myself an Escort Cosworth car on the TT01 chassis and also (by recomendation) some oil filled GMP shocks....

Post this addition, where should i go from here mod wise? Have spent an age looking at all the hop-up's and not sure what to do next.

Also is eBay the only place to get GMP upgrades from? The two people who appear to sell GMP kit have feedback that seems to indicate the delivery takes a while!?!?

Cheers for any help....Dunc

Next upgrade would have to be a full set of bearings as they will give a longer run time and a bit more performance. After that I would get an electronic speed control if it doesn't have one already, the alloy propshaft and alloy motor mount. These will prepare the car for a faster motor should you want to fit one at some point. I wouldn't bother with too much in the way of alloy (suspension arms for instance) as these will just bend in a crash plus add weight. For upgrades try http://www.stellamodels.net, they should have a good selection at decent prices. While they are in Hong Kong, I have found the service to be fast and have never been charged import duty.

Please excuse my numbnuts-ness its not GMP its GPM isnt it lol!!

Thanks for the reply Mr Pushrod, are the replacement alloy steering arms worthwhile, and what do the toe in rear uprights do, a mate suggested those to me too?

Re bearings got a set on order already :)

Silly question here, but do the alloy parts ie arms when greased move better than there plastic counterparts?

There's some guy on eBay.co.uk selling a TT-01 Hop-Up pack which includes

Alloy Propshaft

Alloy Motor Mount

Turnbuckle Tie-Rods

Adjustable Arm Set

He's got a 100% positive feedback and is a fantastic bloke to deal with and his price is great!![;)][;)][:)]

I agree and if Stellamodels doesn't have what you looking for you could try another Hong Kong based hobbyshop www.rcmart.com also known on eBay a dinball (they have a eBay store).

Here's the order I'd choose... Best thing is to get rid of the plastic from the drive train:

1. Ball bearings

2. Alu prop shaft

3. Alu motor mount

4. Metal drive shafts/cups

And if you're racing it...

1. Turnbuckle upper arms

2. Ball diffs

3. F/R sway bars

4. Alu steering

5. Carbon chassis brace

That's getting expensive though for hop-ups. Once you've spent that much, you may as well have bought a better chassis eg a second hand one from another racer who is upgrading.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the alloy GPM suspension arms and bits. They really aren't worth it.

The toe in rear uprights will give the car a bit more stability in a straight line, basically don't bother unless you find the car oversteers too much. The only alloy suspension component I would think about getting would be the front hubs as I have seen them break quite easily.

it was i who suggested the alloy uprights with toe-in correction as many of the cars i have seen built and raced (on the web mind) have had this upgrade fitted..

I agree with what everyone else said about the above though!

Cheers for everyones help, i found the ebay auction for the ..... hold on a minute, it was FBS's auction no wonder he's said it was a good price, infact it was and better than stella models too. So have purchased one of them (well my mum has :))

Got the car going for the first time today, although having probs with steering can't seem to mount the "cog" onto the steering servo straight so am having to correct using the controller, but atm, the wee adjusting doo dah (so technical) is all the way to one side to compensate, any gen on this?!

Cheers for the help so far :)

That's normal having to adjust the trim on the controller to get the car straight, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Remove the servo horn from the servo, turn on all the radio gear, center the trim lever then re-attach the servo connector as close to centered as you can. You won't be able to get it perfect, it just needs to be so that the steering is more or less straight when the trim lever is centered. Then when you next run the car, make sure that you trim the car while running on a flat level surface.

The links in the TT-01 steering are fixed, they're not adjustable. You could replace the steering rack to upright linkages with turnbuckle links, that would allow more fine tuning of the steering.

53662-Turnbuckle Tie-Rod set is a complete set of 2 rods,4 rod ends and 4 ball mounts.

It's in the set you bought from me on eBay (bottom left in the auction pic) so hopefully you haven't bought another!! I'm sending the parcel today!!

Like a prat i did indeed buy a set from Time Tunnel, but a guy at work has just bought teh same chassis as me so ill sell them onto him.

There is a fair bit of play in the front wheels when the car accelerates, can't see any way of stopping this?!
