blackfoot extreme gearing

hi,

i've just bought a blackfoot extreme and, to be honest, the out of the box speed doesn't really satisfy my need for speed.

i have a 20t stinger motor off my traxxas stampede and my question is this: what size pinion gear should i use with a 20t motor?

You don't have a lot of choice on this chassis - you can use the pinion in the kit (18t) or an optional 20T pinion. With a more powerful than standard motor, the 18T one is the one to go for as a result.

Might be wise to strip down and put ballraces in the gearbox before you go for the more powerful motor though.

yeah, i'm going to order a full ballrace set. hopefully 20 turns will be enough to satisfy me.

i would go for a 15 mate. im running a 12 triple in my king blackfoot, diff gearing i know, but i know when i put a 20 in mine it isnt half as much fun. =(

Apart from the word "Blackfoot" and the tyres the two have not a lot in common though - the KBF design has a much smaller pinion, I think you'd find a 12 in the BFX would be seriously overgeared.
