At my local racing club on carpet my TT01 has a tendancy to roll at a certain tight corner. Someone said its down to 'too much grip'0 which isn't helping the car turn. I now use some tq tyre additive which has helped and have ordered some trf shocks to improve handling(surrently only have the basic plastic dampers which came with the kit) and I will then be able to adjust the ride height. Is there anything else I could try to help stop the rolling, or should the new dampers help smooth things out?

Cheers, Chris.

make the springs in the rear softer and the front harder with new springs and get some oil filled shocks. those friction shocks aren't really shocks, they should call them pogo sticks. BOING BOING and that is why you roll.

Traction rolling should be solved in this order:

1) check your rideheight. Lower it as much as you can; you'll have

to do it by putting spacers/washers *inside* your shocks (pogostix)

and making them shorter. Usually 5mm rideheight is good.

2) if you're using tyre sauce... either don't sauce the fronts or

sauce only half the slick, try only on the inner half.

3) antiroll bars work partially by reducing your grip, thus less roll.

I'd try and avoid these if possible, and if you have to use them just

put them at the front only.

Changing the spring weights also changes the speed of weight transfer

when entering the corner. Stiffer spring on the front will reduce the

sudden weight transfer, but may also give you more steering effect.

It will have different results depending on where you start from.

Thanks guys, I have oredered some super low friction shocks and will propably buy the tuned spring set so i can adjust the springs on all of my dampers.m I don't think the TT01 has anti-roll bars as a hop up, hopefully they'll release some sometime.

they go between the front axles and rear axles on real cars. same to rc's. the make the car act like they have a solid axle. you are getting body roll, that is when your car will lean too far to one side while turning hence body ROLL, so the roll bars connect both sides to eachother to help control the leaning. if i'm wrong, someone please correct me.

I thought they go between the two front axles, and then another between the two rear axles [8)] does anyone have a photo in their showroom showing anti roll bars?

thx

my TT01 came with poo tyres... they were too grippy and i wants sum one si could do donuts with... i put slippery back tyres on and it is good now [;)] ..

dont see hwo u can roll it chris... i didnt think it was possible[:0]

hi loopus - forgot to mention i have an upgraded motor, and so more speed = more speed entering/turning corner which has caused me to roll occasionally. [:)]

Hopefully my new supsension/spring setup should help.

With the TL01 I think don't bother making your own ARBs.

They're like the M03 ones, where's there no obvious way

to mount them without the special hardware Tamiya gives

when you buy the option pack - not very expensive anyway.

With TL01 traction-rolling, biggest culprit is rideheight.

Measure your car now... is the rideheight more than 10mm?

You want it as low as the club allows, probably 5mm.

Push the car down until you get 5mm... and measure how

long each shock needs to be.

When you get your oil shocks, put spacers or o-rings onto the

shaft *inside* your shock to shorten the throw. Make it only

as long as you've measured above. That's all there is to it.

Just measured the rideheight of my car - without battery in car it is 14mm [:0] and with battery it is 10mm! with my new dampers i should be able to cut the ride height by half, to 5mm.

This is the height the majority of racers use at my local race club.

Bingo, you've found the source of your traction rolling problem.

In the interim, you can even put some spacers into the friction

shocks, either use 3mm washers of o-rings or fueltube, anything

that fits. You'll find a lot better stability low down.

btw hope you're not measuring the ride height using the chunky

rally tyres. Those are higher than racing slicks by at least 3mm.

A stock TL01 usually sits about 12mm out of the box.

Yeah i measured the ride height with slicks on, I don't use the stock rally tires that came with the kit. Also my car's a TT01 [:D]

Shocks are expected later this week so i will test them when i get them with the new ride-height.

yes silly people.. TT-01 get it correct [:D]

chris u got a different speed controller with your tt01 cos i dont wanna have to buy a new one to be able to add a faster motor

Hi, Im using an mtroniks eco20 which works fine for my motor, no problems yet (fingers crossed) lol if you are going to upgrade your motor then i would recommend an ESC, or is it compulsory with a hotter motor so you don't blow something up?!

whats an esc? i dont understand nothing bout this..

and if i was gonna buy an esc how much would it cost probly cost ...

i aint buying anything too expensive ill just buy the sport tuned 540 if i dont like the price [8)]

my ESC cost £30 and is at the cheaper end of a range of ESC's. if you're looking for a good one such as a LRP then you can spend £60+, i dont know much about them tho. My motor cost me £30.

ESC -

There's quite a few topics on esc's if you do a search.
